SEASON TICKET SALES UP
(Wednesday 31st July 2013)
COTN understands that Season Ticket sales at the Club had already topped the 2,000 mark a week before the season kicks off. The figure marks an increase from the 1,987 total sold for the 2012/13 season and comes following a steady decline in sales for the previous three seasons - 2,324 being sold in 2011/12, 2,432 in 2010/11 and 2,897 in 2009/10.
The Club's highest Season Ticket sales to date since promotion to the Football League in 1993 came in the 2002/03 season when sales reached close to 3,500. |

KEWLEY-GRAHAM LOANED

Wanderers midfielder Jesse Kewley-Graham has joined Havant & Waterlooville on loan until 5th January 2014. The 20 year old spent time on loan with the Conference South side last season, making 9 appearances. While he also spent time on loan at Staines Town during the 2011/12 season. The former Wycombe youth player signed a new one-year deal with the Wanderers in June (2013) having made his First Team debut in January 2012 and made a further 9 appearances last season. The deal includes a recall clause which becomes active after 28 days. |

WYCOMBE 5 BURNHAM 1
(Monday 29th July 2013)
Lee Angol bagged a hat-trick as Wycombe beat Burnham 5-1 in a 'behind closed doors' friendly at Wanderers Training Ground on Monday evening. Angol scored on 7, 15 and 43 minutes, the latter coming from the spot after the former Spurs trainee had been brought down in the box. Earlier Junior Morias had struck home on 30 minutes, while Steven Craig headed home to make it 5-0 two minutes into second-half before Wanderers took the foot of the gas.
Matt McClure was introduced for the final 15 minutes as he started his return from injury before Burnham grabbed a consolation goal in the 85th minute. Wycombe included Ben Stevens as second-half trialist. The 29 year old has previously played local football in Aylesbury. It's now all eyes on the opening day Football League fixture with Morecambe at Adams Park on Saturday (3rd August). OXFORD CITY 1 WYCOMBE 1

Wanderers drew 1-1 with Conference North side Oxford City in their final scheduled friendly prior to the start of the Football League season. Albi Skendi gave the home side the lead on 11 minutes as they had the better of the early exchanges. However, Jon-Paul Pittman equalised on 38 minutes as Wanderers went on to dominate the remainder of the game. The match saw Gary Doherty return from injury for Wanderers.

SQUAD NUMBERS REVEALED

Wycombe have confirmed their squad numbers for the 2013/14 season. Dean Morgan has taken over Gareth Ainsworth’s No.7 shirt, although the Wycombe boss is still included in the squad on a non-contract basis. Full list as follows;

BURNHAM FRIENDLY OFF TOO

Wanderers saw another friendly bite the dust on Wednesday evening when Burnham's pitch was deemed too dangerous to play on. Wycombe arrived at The Gore and were greeted with a another sub-standard surface following on from the farce at Farnborough the previous week. Manager Gareth Ainsworth commented to the official website, "Unfortunately the pitch wasn’t up to standard. It was dangerous and there was what can only be described as a bunker on the far side of the pitch. With first-team players coming back such as Gary Doherty and Josh Scowen, I wasn’t prepared to risk them to further injury so we took the risk out of it and I hope everyone understands.” Wycombe will now continue their disprupted pre-season programme with a game at Oxford City on Friday evening. |

STEVEN CRAIG SIGNS

Wycombe have signed experienced striker Steven Craig after he impressed Gareth Ainsworth on trial in the friendlies against Havant & Waterlooville and Reading. The 32 old scored 12 goals in 25 appearances for Patrick Thistle last season as they clinched the Scottish First Division title. The Scottish born player has also played for Falkirk, Motherwell, Aberdeen, Dundee, Livingston and Ross County, totalling close to 90 goals in just over 360 appearances. He has signed a one year deal with Wycombe, subject to international clearance. |

DUNNE TRANSFER ON HOLD
(Saturday 20th July 2013)
A deal Charles Dunne to 'Championship' side Blackpool has fallen through according to a report in the Bucks Examiner. The report claims a fee had been agreed between the two sides for the 20 year old but this fell through as the Tangerines had earmarked a small proportion of an £8m fee they expected to receive from the transfer of Tom Ince to Cardiff City. Ince has since opted against a move to the Premier League club after becoming a father for the first time, this scuppering the deal for the time being.

WYCOMBE 2 ASTON VILLA 2

Wanderers held Premiership Aston Villa to a 2-2 draw in an entertaining pre-season friendly at Adams Park. Marvin McCoy and Leon Johnson gave Wanderers the lead on two occasions but Villa, managed by former Wycombe boss Paul Lambert, ground out an equalisers through Matt Lowton and Ashley Westwood.

CHANGE KIT REVEALED
(Saturday 20th July 2013)
Wanderers revealed their new 'change kit' for the 2013/14 season during a launch event prior to the friendly with Aston Villa on Saturday. The shirt bears a remarkable resemblence to the much maligned 'Tequila Sunrise' kit worn by Barcelona during the 2012/13 campaign.
Wanderers version replaces the red 'change kit' worn last season and has sponsors EA Sports FIFA 14 on the front and Samsung on the rear. It's understood this design will only be used for one season while the new first choice blue quartered kit will have a two year life span. |

FARNBORO v WYCOMBE

Wanderers pre-season friendly at Farnborough was abandoned at half-time after the referee ruled the pitch as too dangerous to continue to play on. Before the abandonment, trialist Philip Roberts had netted twice to give Wanderers a comfortable advantage at the break. Wanderers included three other trialists in the starting line-up. Ellis Deeney, brother of Watford striker Troy, Boreham Wood defender Robert Hastings and another run out for Dutchman Arsenio Halfhuid.

STAINES 0 WYCOMBE 3

A goal apiece from Josh Scowen, Dean Morgan and Jo Kuffour saw Wanderers return from Staines Town with a comfortable 3-0 in their third pre-season friendly before the start of the 2013/1 campaign. Trialist Arsenio Halfhuid was introduced late in the game.

READING 3 WYCOMBE 1
(Saturday 13th July 2013)
Wanderers went down 3-1 in the 'behind-closed-doors' friendly with Reading at The Royals Hogwood Park Training Ground on Saturday. On the hottest weekend of the year to date, the home side took the lead in the 15th minute when Nick Blackman reacted quickest after Royston Drenthe’s was pushed away by Matt Ingram. Wycombe drew level five minutes into the second period when Dean Morgan netted from the spot after Sam Wood had been brought down by Stephen Kelly. However, The Championship side clinched through Russia international Pavel Pogrebynak's header on 75 minutes and Danny Williams side foot from eight yards with a minute of normal time remaining. Wanderers fielded two trialists during the game, these were Steven Craig and Colin Hamilton. Wanderers will play Reading in a 'behind-closed-doors' friendly at The Royals Hogwood Park Training Ground on Saturday (13th July - KO 3pm). The game has been arranged after the scheduled meeting between the two sides at Adams Park on the same date was cancelled due to the playing surface not being ready. |

EASTLEIGH 0 WYCOMBE 3

Wanderers secured a comfortable 3-0 victory in their second pre-season friendly prior to the start of the 2013/14 campaign. Dean Morgan (penalty), Matt Spring and Jon-Paul Pittman got the goals.
Team news saw Charles Dunne return to the squad after his 'trial' at Blackpool, while Wycombe included Colin Hamilton again as 'unnamed trialist'.

18 YEAR OLD DEFENDER SIGNS

Wanderers have signed 18 year old Cheshunt centre-back Tommy Fletcher on a one year deal, with the Club having the option of a second year. The youngster played the first half of Saturday’s 1-0 victory at Havant & Waterlooville. Fletcher spent five years at Cheshunt and this is his first pro deal. |

LJ SIGNS ONE YEAR DEAL

The Club confirmed on Monday (8th July) that Leon Johnson had agreed a new one year deal with the Wanderers running until June 2014. The 32 year old will now enter his seventh season at Adams Park since joining from Gillingham in the summer of 2007. He had totalled 171 First Team Wanderers appearances, scoring three times to the end of the 2012/13 campaign. |

DUNNE 'ON TRIAL' AT B'POOL

There was a shock for Wanderers followers on Saturday when the news filtered through that 20 year old defender Charles Dunne played for 'Championship' side Blackpool on Saturday in their pre-season game with Penrith. The former youth teamer, who is contracted with Wycombe until June 2014, played the second-half for Paul Ince's side although there has been no official comment on this from Wycombe Wanderers FC or the Trust. |

HAVANT & W 0 WYCOMBE 1

A Dean Morgan goal after 63 minutes was enough to see Wanderers win 1-0 at Havant & Waterlooville in their opening friendly prior to the 2013/14 campaign. New signing 'keeper Charlie Horlock saved a stoppage time penalty to ensure victory for Gareth Ainsworth's side. The Wycombe boss gave run outs to four trialists, including a place in the starting line up for 21 year old full-back Colin Hamilton who played 27 times last season for Arbroath in the Scottish Second Division. The other trialists were Cheshunt 20 year old defender Tom Fletcher, striker Steven Craig and left winger Toby Down. Attendance was 395.

LJ AND DANNY FOSTER IN CONTRACT TALKS

Out of contract players Leon Johnson and Danny Foster are both still in talks with Manager Gareth Ainsworth over their future at Adams Parks, according to press reports. Neither player has joined the rest of the squad for pre-season training, with Johnson training apparently training on his own, while Foster is still still in rehabilitation from an injury picked up in November 2012. |

PITCH NOT READY FOR ROYALS

Wanderers pre-season friendly with Reading scheduled for Saturday 13th July has been cancelled due to the Adams Park playing surface not being ready for action. A statement from the Club, added, "The recent poor weather has caused a delay in the pitch reaching a playable standard, despite the best efforts of the club’s groundstaff. Wanderers cannot take any risk with the surface as they kick off the 2013/14 campaign with two home games in the space of just four days. The Club are, however, extremely confident that the surface will be ready for the friendly with Premier League side Aston Villa on Saturday 20th July." |

WOODLANDS SHUT FOR LEAGUE CUP

The Club have confirmed ticket details for the Football League Cup meeting with Leicester City at Adams Park on Tuesday 6th August. They have also confirmed that the 'Frank Adams Stand' (the upper tier of the Woodlands Stand) will not be open 'unless the demand for tickets requires it to be open.' Ticket prices are Adults: £15, Seniors (60 and over): £12, Young Adults (19-25): £10, Juniors (8-18): £8, Children (7 and under): £5. |

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRUST
(Monday 1st July 2013)
This weeks marks the first anniversary of the Trust taking over the Club. In a statement to members. Trust Chairman Trevor Stroud said, "To say the last twelve months have been interesting would be an understatement, but if I had to summarise the situation, it would be we are moving in the right direction." He went on to add, "It is our intention to publish the accounts of the Football Club for the year ending June 30th 2013 within weeks, rather than the usual months, and although these will still show a loss, there will be a significant improvement in the overall position."
