Eastleigh 0 Wycombe Wanderers 3
Tuesday 9th July 2013
Wanderers secured a comfortable 3-0 victory in their second pre-season friendly prior to the start of the 2013/14 campaign. Gareth Ainsworth included new signing Tom Fletcher after he impressed enough in the friendly at Havant the previous Saturday. Also included again from the start as a 'trialist' was defender Colin Hamilton. Other team news saw Charles Dunne return to the squad after his 'trial' at Blackpool, while Josh Scowen was ruled out with a minor injury.
Conference South side Eastleigh, managed by former Wanderers Assistant Richard Hill, included Ben Strevens in their line-up - the striker spent two seasons at Adams Park, scoring 11 League goals in 76 appearances before moving on to Gillingham and then Dagenham & Redbridge before teaming up with Eastleigh in the summer of 2013.
Wycombe took the lead in the 4th minute when Kortney Hause played through Dean Morgan on goal only for home 'keeper Ross Flitney to pull down the Wycombe player and concede a penalty. Morgan picked himself to convert with a shot high to the 'keepers right.
Junior Morias (twice), Max Kretzschmar and Paris Cowan_hall all had further chances for Wycombe before the break, while Matt Ingram dealt comfortably with a Yemi Odubade effort early in the half.
After a mass of half-time substitutions for both sides, Wycombe extended their lead within 60 seconds when Matt Spring was sent through on goal and he kept his head to fire low past substitute keeper Jack Dovey.
The victory was sealed on 82 minutes when Joe Kuffour centred from the byeline for Jon-Paul Pittman to stroke home from close range.
Final Score - Eastleigh 0 Wycombe 3
