STOCKPORT 2 WYCOMBE 1

Wanderers miserable run continued on Saturday with a 2-1 defeat to Stockport County at Edgeley Park. Wycombe were two down at the break but a late Roger Johnson goal set up an interesting finish. The result sees Wycombe drop to 17th place in the Division Two table.

YOUTH TEAM UPDATE
(Saturday 30th November 2002)
Two defeats for the Youth Team's at the weekend. The U19's went down 1-0 at Colchester United while the U17's lost 2-1 at home to Southend United. TALIA OFFERED EXTENSION
(Friday 29th November 2002)
Frank Talia has been offered another one month extension to his contract at Wycombe that currently expires on 10th December. The Aussie 'keeper is said to be unhappy at being dropped from the First Team but has always expressed his desire to stay at the club and fight for his place. |

TRAVEL PLAN UPDATE

MILLWALL DEFEAT RESERVES
(Wednesday 27th November 2002)
Wanderers Reserves went down 3-1 to Millwall at Buckingham Road on Wednesday afternoon. Craig Faulconbridge gave Wycombe an early lead but after Roger Johnson was red carded for a wild challenge on 65 minutes the visitors went on the score three times to secure victory. EX-WANDERER AT THE FA
(Wednesday 27th November 2002)
Former Wanderers midfielder Les Reed could be in line to take the vacant FA Technical Director position following the departure of Howard Wilkinson at the end of October. 49 year old Reed is already taking the role on a 'caretaker' basis in addition to his existing Director of Techinical Development position where he coaches the England Under 20's side. Reed played briefly for Wycombe in the late 1970's and eventually moved into coaching with the FA and Charlton Athletic.

WYCOMBE TAKE BEE ON LOAN

Wycombe have signed Brentford left-back Ijah Anderson on a month's loan as cover for the injured Chris Vinnicombe. The 26 year old has made close to 250 appearances for The Bees but has been out of favour this season and put on the transfer list. This follows a fallout with Brentford Chairman Ron Noades in the summer over a new contract but Noades says they still want a fee for the former Spurs trainee. The loan lasts up to and including 1st Jan 2003 but Brentford are not allowing him to play in the LDV Vans Trophy tie at Bristol City on 11th December. |

INJURY UPDATE
(Tuesday 26th November 2002)
Wanderers fans have been stunned this week with the news that Darren Currie is the latest player to be added to injury list. He damaged ligaments in his shoulder during training and could be out for eight weeks. Less than a week ago both Chris Vinnicombe and Ben Townsend were also injured at the training ground. |

DEVINE MYSTERY
(Thursday 21st November 2002)
Mystery surrounds the absence of Sean Devine from last Saturday's game with Brentford. The striker was due to return after suspension but he was not even included in the squad and there has been no comment from the club or in the local press as to why. It's understood that Devine missed training the previous week due to a family illness but the lack of any official comment from the club has led to wild gossip of a transfer by some Wycombe fans. TACTICS DEBATE II

Lawrie Sanchez has fired up more debate amongst Wycombe fans. He bemoaned the fact that he had been unable to play the 'direct style' of football that Brentford adopted in their 4-2 victory defeat over Wycombe in the FA Cup. He told the local press "Unfortunately in the Buckinghamshire area that type of play is not allowed and we end up being what we are"

FA CUP DISASTER
(Saturday 16th November 2002)
Wanderers had a defensive nightmare as they crashed out of the FA Cup on Saturday to Brentford. Wycombe conceded twice in the opening eight minutes but after drawing level before the half-hour mark then leaked two further sloppy goals to bow out at the First Round stage and miss out on vital revenue.

There were mixed fortunes for the Wanderers Youth Teams on Saturday. The U19's went down 4-2 at Brentford in a top of the table this after Matt Heggie had gived Wycombe an early lead. B&B EXIT AT SLOUGH
(Tuesday 12th November 2002)
With the First Team at Cheltenham, a very young Wycombe side went down 1-0 at Slough Town the B&B. Martyn Lee made his comeback from injury and came through 90 minutes. FINE FOR DANNY SENDA

Danny Senda has been fined a week's wages for his red card at Huddersfield. The fine is current Club policy and Lawrie Sanchez hopes he'll learn his lesson. He told the local press "That macho business is a waste of time. The way to show how macho you are is by doing it on the pitch with your tackles" Senda will also miss four game starting 23rd November. |

GIBBO ON REFS

Terry Gibson has said that referees are being influenced by home crowds. Speaking to BBC Three Counties Radio after the game at Huddersfield he said "You come to places like this and there's a decent crowd and they get behind their team and they appeal for everything and they put referees under pressure." Both Gibson and Lawrie Sanchez were extremely unhappy with match referee Carl Boyeson after he red-carded Danny Senda. Gibson added "If there's one thing about our crowd at Wycombe we don't put referees under that sort of pressure. But you come to places like this and referees do tend to lean in favour." |

Danny Senda was sent off in controversial circumstances as Wanderers played out a goalless draw at Huddersfield on Saturday. Wanderers U19's retained their place at the top of Youth Alliance South East Conference table with a 2-0 victory over Brighton at Molins Sports Ground on Saturday morning. WASPS COULD SETTLE AT AP

Local press reports plus the uncertainty over the return of Fulham to Craven Cottage could be prompting London Wasps to start looking at a longer term deal at Adams Park. Fulham's groundshare at QPR forced Wasps out to Wycombe for an initial two year deal starting last May but an extended agreement and a bigger say in running the stadium are the rumoured scenarios. |

YOUTHS WIN THRO IN FAYC

TALIA AGREES EXTENSION

Frank Talia has agreed a one month extension to his contract at Wycombe. The 'keeper is now contracted at Wycombe until 10th December. The Club say that "current financial circumstances" prevent a longer deal being offered at this stage. |

YOUTH TEAM UPDATE

Wanderers Youth Teams registered excellent League victories prior to the FA Youth Cup meeting with Cirencester next Tuesday at Adams Park (KO 7pm). Pat Lynott came off the bench to score the winner for the U19's in a 1-0 victory at QPR while the U17's won 2-0 at home to Cambridge United with Will Stockwell and a Leon Gordon penalty securing the points. NEW PARK AND RIDE
(Saturday 2nd November 2002)
A new Park and Ride scheme was launched for the game with Swindon. Supporters are now able to park at The Dashwood Arms at Piddington and then catch a bus leaving at 2pm for Adams Park. The return cost is £2 adults and £1 concessions. This scheme is in addition to the Park and Ride facility at the Cinema complex at Cressex. Travel update |

RHINO WAS SET TO LEAVE

It's been revealed that Keith Ryan had been set to join Conference side Woking on loan after 'Rhino' became unhappy at not playing First Team football. However, Wanderers dip in form meant the long serving player was recalled and he's developed a new lease of life. He told the BFP "I'm pleased with the way it's worked out. Wanderers legend Dave Carroll has left Aldershot Town in a quest to seek regular First Team football. Carroll joined The Shots last April on a non-contract basis and was free to leave at any time. SIMPEMBA STAYS AT WOKING
