It's sure to make interesting reading as the Blackburn Rovers goalscoring legend recalls varied times during his football career that included a play-off victory with Wycombe in 1995. KEEP THE BLUES AWAY

Lawrie Sanchez has taken on board comments from fans who say they prefer to see the Wanderers play in their traditional light and dark blue quarters during away games. Writing in the matchday programme v Chesterfield, the Wycombe boss said "We have used this at Torquay and Barnsley and will continue to do so wherever possible on our travels" |

RESERVES HIT FOR SIX

A youthful Wanderers Reserves side went down 6-1 to Crystal Palace on Wednesday afternoon at Buckingham Road. Matty Warner gave Wycombe the lead in the 20th minute with a stinging 25 yard strike but Palace hit back with two goals through Gareth Williams on 35 and 53 minutes. Williams completed his hat-trick during a late scoring blitz for the visitors.

CONCERN OVER CROWDS

The club have expressed concern that London Wasps may be partly to blame for the fall in attendances for Wanderers games at Adams Park this season. Financial Director Rod Tomlin was quoted in the matchday programme v Chesterfield as saying "The trend has a big adverse effect on cash flow. What can we do, other than score goals, to increase the fan base at a time when Wasps arrival on the scene is leading to some evidence of divided loyalties?" League gates this season at Adams Park are currently down an average of 1,200 compared to 2001/2002. |

TV DEAL CONFIRMED

The Football League have now confirmed a two year deal with ITV to bring match match highlights back to terrestrial TV. The League will receive £2m cash and a £3m advance on the liquidation of ITV Digital. The highlights programmes will include broadcasts on Sunday afternoons. Wycombe stand to receive an immediate payment of £54,000 as part of the new deal. |

TALIA OFFERED EXTENSION

Frank Talia has been offered a one month extension to his contract at Wycombe according to official sources. If the Aussie agrees to the deal it would keep him at Wycombe until 9th December. The Club say that "current financial circumstances" prevent a longer deal being offered to the 'keeper at this stage. |

YOUTH TEAM UPDATE

There were mixed fortunes for the Wanderers Youth Teams at the weekend. The U19's won 3-0 at Southend United with Nathanial Griffiths scoring in the first half and Mark Philo and Jonny Dixon completing the victory. BROWNIE TO RETIRE?

Local press reports are inferring that Steve Brown could retire from the playing side at the end of next season (2003/4). The midfielder says he wants to make way for the youngsters in the squad. However, 'Brownie' is out of contract at the end of this season (Brownie's ninth at Wycombe) and will be seeking a final year extension in what would be his testimonial year. |

TALIA UNLIKELY TO STAY

Frank Talia is unlikely to stay at Wycombe when his short term contract expires next month. The Aussie 'keeper has been an able deputy during the absence of Martin Taylor but doesn't fit into Wanderers current budget. Lawrie Sanchez says "I would like to keep Frank but a decision will be made on the resources available to use. I've got to have a chat with the Chairman" |

LDV VICTORY AT TORQUAY

UNDER 19's BEAT COLU
(Saturday 19th October 2002)
Jonny Dixon scored a hat-trick as Wanderers U19's beat Colchester United 4-3 at Molins Sports Ground. Robert Tungatt gave Wycombe the lead in the sixth minute and Dixon had completed his hat-trick by the 65th minute to make the score 4-1. However, two goals for the visitors in the closing stages made it a nervous finish. Meanwhile, the U17's won 4-1 at Southend United with Lee Parrach grabbing another three goals. TRAVEL PLAN UPDATE

The Club are stepping up their efforts to improve the effectiveness of the Match Day Travel Plan after the plan was given its final financial approval at a recent Council meeting. CLUB RUBBISH WAGE CUTS

Reports that Wanderers are considering asking players and staff to take pay cuts to help reduce running costs are being rubbished by sources close to the Club. Financial Director Rod Tomlin was quoted in national news feeds as saying a voluntary 10% cut is the "worse case scenario". Cuts in stewarding and stadium development were said to be also on the cards. |

THREE GAME BAN FOR SEAN

Sean Devine will serve a three match suspension from First Team games for his dismisal in the Reserve game at Luton. The striker will miss the games with Swindon (2nd Nov), Huddersfield (9th Nov) and either the 2nd Round of the LDV (if Wycombe beat Torquay) or the First Round of the FA Cup (16th Nov). |

DEVINE OFF FOR RESERVES
(Wednesday 16th October 2002)
Sean Devine was sent-off as the Reserves crashed 3-1 at Luton Town in the Avon Insurance Combination. Richard Harris had given Wanderers the lead on 30 minutes but The Hatters levelled in first-half stoppage time before taking the lead on 50 minutes. Devine was red-carded for use of the elbow on 63 minutes before the home side sealed their victory ten minutes later.

FORMER YT BOSS ON MOVE

Wanderers former Youth Team boss Gary Goodchild has joined UEFA Cup heroes Viking Stavanger in a similar role. Goodchild, who spent four years at Wycombe, used to play for the Norwegian side in the mid 1980's and returned to his adopted homeland in December 2001 due to family reasons. |

EX-DON TRIALLIST MOVES ON

Former Wimbledon defender Dean Blackwell has moved on after playing just one trial game for Wycombe. The 6'1" player ended a 14 year spell with The Dons in the summer after making close to 250 apperances and is now a 'free agent'. It's understood he's now seeking a trial at Brighton. |

RESERVES LOSE TO NORWICH

Wanderers' Reserves went down 5-1 to an experienced Norwich City side in the Avon Insurance Combination at Buckingham Road. The Canaries lead 3-0 at the break before Jonny Dixon pulled a goal back just before the hour mark with a sweet strike. However, the visitors added two more prior to the final whistle.

A crowd of just over 5,000 witnessed Wycombe take on Martin O'Neill's Celtic side at Adams Park in Jason Cousins' Testimonial game. Wanderers have taken former Wimbledon defender Dean Blackwell on trial. The 32 year played in the Testimonial game with Celtic at Adams Park.
The 6'1" player ended a 14 year spell with The Dons in the summer after making close to 250 apperances and is now a 'free agent'. Last season he failed to make any Division One appearances for The Dons while the previous season he made just six. |

The weekend games saw Wanderers U19's grab an excellent 3-2 victory at Leyton Orient with Nathanial Griffiths (2) and Matt Heggie scoring the goals. Meanwhile Lee Parrach scored twice and was denied a last minute winner by the referee's full-time whistle as the U17's drew 2-2 with Leyton Orient at Molins.

SIMPEMBA GOES ON LOAN

The away game at Cardiff City scheduled for Saturday 12th October is now back on. The game was originally reported off on Monday due to international call-ups for Wales vs Italy game the following Wednesday. However, The Football League have since refused
