Wycombe are reported to
be interested in Blackburn Rovers' former England Under 21 international Marlon
Broomes. The 23 year old central defender has struggled to make an
impact at First Team level at Rovers, making 39 senior appearances since
signing pro in 1994. The 6' player still has one year of his contract to
run, so a fee maybe required. |

a trial to 6'2" Finnish striker Justus Vajanne. The 24
year old Atlantis player was at Adams Park to watch the QPR game and
will play for the reserves against Barnet on Wednesday 29th

A stoppage time
goal from Paul McCarthy gave Wycombe a satisfying 1-0 victory
over Queens Park Rangers on Bank Holiday Monday at Adams Park. It was
the first ever senior League meeting between Wycombe and Rangers and
attracted a record League gate to Adams Park of 9,217.

minutes from time by Darren Currie grabbed Wycombe a point in a 2-2
draw at Blackpool on Saturday. Wycombe were two down inside

games for Wycombe, summer capture from Barnet, Darren Currie
has already won the fans over at Adams Park. Lawrie Sanchez isn't
surprised. He said "He's obviously a quality player. He gives
us something we haven't got".

Wycombe turned on
their newly upgraded floodlights for the first time against Bristol
Rovers. The new lights cost in the region of £40,000 and now meet
Division One standards. The lights will shine down on an England Under
16 International in November.

of the Worthington Cup on Tuesday evening, losing 1-0 to Bristol
Rovers under the newly upgraded Adams Park floodlights. David

capacity all-seater 'away-end' opened for business for the first time
on Saturday. However, there are fears from fans on the terraces that

Maher has signed a one-year deal with Bournemouth with a
one-year extension option. Maher had been on trial at Luton Town but

Harkin has joined Third Division Carlisle United on a month's
loan while 'keeper Mark Westhead is now on the books of

Scott has moved to another Conference side, Dover Athletic.

UPDATE
The Wanderers Youth
Team's got their League season off to a flying start on Saturday (18th August) with
victories in both games. The Under 19's scored an impressive 3-1 victory
at Brighton while the Under 17's beat Gillingham by the same margin. Leeyon
Phelan scored twice for the U19's, including a cracking strike from
John-Paul Kelly's 40 yard pass. Roger Johnson netted the other goal.

AWAY END OPENS
(update Saturday 18th
August 2001)
The newly extended
away stand opened on Saturday following the all clear from the safety
inspectors on Friday afternoon. Wrexham fans were the first to use the
2,000 capacity stand, however, the new scoreboard probably won't be
ready until the visit of QPR on Monday 28th August.

A new issue of
Wycombe fanzine One-One went on sale before Saturday's home game
with Wrexham. The terrace cynics have kept the price at 50p and the

Lawrie Sanchez says
that his phone has been 'burning hot' with all the calls he has made
chasing players. He told the BFP "You would have to be naive not
to realise we need another striker". Reports suggest that
Wycombe have had at least one bid turned down for an established striker
and an improved offer for Chris Greenacre could also be on the cards. |

according to reports in the Scottish Mail. The 30 year old is struggling

completed the signing of West Ham cast-off Gavin Holligan on a
one year contract. Holligan, who was 21 on Sunday 5th August, passed his
