WYCOMBE INTERESTED IN HIBS DEFENDER
(Tuesday 14th August 2001 - updated Thursday 16th August 2001) ![]() 6'3" McIntosh is a former Spurs junior who started his pro career with St Mirren in 1988. He first broke into serious First Team football after signing for Clydebank in 1991 and has since had spells with Hamilton, Stockport County before moving to Hibs in February 2000 for £250,000. However, after losing his place due to suspension on the opening day of the 2000/2001 season he was edged out of the side and went on to make just a handful of appearances. The former Scotland 'B' international is described on the Official Hibernian website as "Powerful and commanding in the air, he is also assured on the deck and blessed with great passing ability." With moves to bring in Shaun Maher and Russ Perrett now on the back burner, Sanchez is keen to get extra cover into the Wycombe defence as soon as possible. He may now opt to use up one of his loans while he finds a more permanent replacement for the retired Jamie Bates. Since this story broke the Bucks Free Press have confirmed the interest from Wycombe. Lawrie Sanchez said "We've agreed the paperwork with the club, they are amenable to letting him go but I haven't been able to speak to the player yet. I'm hoping he might be down here by the weekend." However, he's unlikely to play against Wrexham but the Wycombe boss will have to act quickly to prevent Rotherham stepping in. The Millers have also shown interest in the 30 year old Scot. Click here to read all the latest Wycombe news |
