"ABOUT READY FOR IT" - SANCHEZ
(Tuesday 7th August 2001) Lawrie Sanchez says that his team are 'about ready for it' following last Saturday's work-out against Aldershot. The Wycombe boss began the game watching from the stands but was quickly down to the bench following a first-half flare-up that followed a two footed lunge on Chris Vinnicombe. Sanchez will lead his troops onto Cardiff for the opening league game on Saturday (11th August) and he was grateful for the return of two key players. Speaking after the Aldershot game, he told the Bucks Free Press "I wanted a performance and a win and I got both. With Rammell and Jocky coming back you can already see that we've got more alternatives and we're about ready for it now" Before Saturday's game with Cardiff, Sanchez is due to take another look at Bohemian centre-back Shaun Maher. The Irishman is set to play for Luton Town against Spurs at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday (7th August) making The Hatters favourites for his signature. Luton boss Joe Kinnear has given the tall defender a two week trial before a decision is expected. Click here to read all the latest Wycombe news |
