Wycombe kept their unbeaten home record intact with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Port Vale on Saturday afternoon at Adams Park. All three goals came in an six minute spell in the first half with Richard Walker scoring twice and Andy Rammell bagging his third goal in four games.

Wanderers Youth Team YOUTH TEAM UPDATE
There were mixed fortunes for The Wanderers' Youth Team's on Saturday 29th September. The Under 19's enjoyed a 5-4 success away to Brentford in a game where they were leading 4-1. Meanwhile the Under 17's lost 2-1 to Brentford in a home game played at Molins Sports Ground.

Football League Chief Executive, David Burns, has compared Wycombe to Spanish giants Barcelona. Writing in the newsletter of Supporters Direct he commented on the ownership of each club and how this could be "very much part of the future for many football clubs in this country"

A Paul Emblen penalty after 35 minutes was enough to see Wanderers' Reserves overcome Brighton 1-0 in the Avon Insurance Combination fixture at Worthing FC. Emblen converted the penalty after Dave Carroll had been fouled. Ian Simpemba was red carded for Wycombe two minutes before the break in a sometimes fiery encounter.

A 62nd minute equaliser from Andy Rammell grabbed Wycombe a deserved point against league leaders Brighton and Hove Albion at Adams Park on Tuesday evening. Nathan Jones had fired the visitors into an 11th minute lead. Brighton remain top of Division Two with Wycombe in 14th.

Wycombe have been drawn at home to Brentford in the First Round of the LDV Vans Trophy. The date of the tie has now been confirmed as Wednesday 17th October and the Club have announced massive price cuts on addmission charges.

Wycombe Wanderers Ladies maintained their 100% league record with a 7-3 victory away at Thame on Sunday (23rd September). Su Oakley and Heather Scutchings shared the goals again. Wanderers now head the table.

Wycombe slumped to a 2-0 defeat at Reading on Saturday 22nd September, conceding both goals in quick succession during the first-half. Gavin Holligan was sent off in the second-half for a second bookable offence on a miserable day for Wycombe. The Wanderers are now 16th place in the table.

After Wycombe's game at Bury on Tuesday evening was postponed due to floodlight problems at Gigg Lane a new date has now been arranged for Tuesday 2nd October. The match failed to start and was eventually called off at around 8.20pm.

The Wanderers' Reserves went down 3-0 to a strong Portsmouth side at Adams Park on Wednesday afternoon in the Avon Insurance Combination. Lee Mills (2) and Rowan Vine got the Pompey goals with Stewart Castledine and Jermaine Mcsporran having Wycombe's best chances.

The Club have informed members that they will announce a net profit of just over £150,000 for the 2000/2001 season. Approximately £1m of 'unbudgeted additional revenue' came as a result of the remarkable run to the semi-final of the FA Cup.

A 35th minute strike from Andy Rammell was enough to see Wycombe beat Wigan Athletic by a goal to nil at Adams Park on Saturday afternoon. There was a minute's silence prior to the game as a mark of respect for those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on the USA on Tuesday 11th September.

Richard WalkerSANCHEZ TAKES A LOAN

Wycombe have signed 23 year old Aston Villa striker Richard Walker on a month loan. He'll be able to play on Saturday against Wigan. The former Villa trainee has made a handful of First Team appearances while at Villa Park and has also had loan spells at Cambridge United and Blackpool.

Wycombe officials have eased fans fears that the Valley End terrace has been earmarked for seating. Director Mike Greatwood told supporters at a recent Fans Forum "It's just not on our agenda". He also revealed plans to improve the egress problems from Adams Park on matchdays.

Lawrie Sanchez has ruled out making a bid for Nuneaton Borough striker Mark McGregor. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Wycombe have re-opened their interest in Wrexham striker Craig Faulconbridge with Oldham Athletic also in the hunt.

Grimsby Town have beaten Wycombe in the race to sign Blackburn central defender Marlon Broomes. The former England Under 19 international has joined The Mariners on a months loan after Wycombe had tried to negiotiate a permament deal for the 23 year old.

A tragic 70th minute headed own goal from Steve Brown saw Wycombe defeated 2-1 at the McAlpine Stadium on Sunday evening. The Wanderers had led through a 14th minute goal from Gavin Holligan but a 20 yard bullet from John Thorrington drew the scores level seven minutes before the break.

While Sanchez spends the weekend scouting the English market, Wycombe are also being linked with bringing in Bohemian's Irish international Glen Crowe. The 23 year old striker scored 25 League goals for Bohs last season. However, he blotted his copybook on Friday evening when he was sent off in the Bohs 5-1 victory at Galway United.
