Wanderers Ladies in action against Stocklake at Adams ParkLatest news: It was a tough end top the 2001/2002 season for Wycombe Wanderers Ladies. On Thursday 25th April the team were edged out by two goals to one in their crucial Adams Park encounter against Stocklake in the Women's Regional Southern - Northern Division while on Sunday 28th April, the consequences of playing two games in four days took it's toll as they went down 6-2 after extra-time at home to Luton Town Belles in the Chairman's Cup.

Wanderers were relying on Stocklake dropping points in their final two League games if they were to lift the title but as expected the Aylesbury based side took maximum points from their games in hand and pipped Wanderers to the title.

Lindsey Beverley, scorer against Luton Town Match reports: The game with Luton Town Belles on Sunday 28th April in the 2nd Round of the Chairman's Cup was an exciting encounter played in difficult conditions. Wanderers found themselves 2-0 down and it stayed that way until Heather Scutchings pulled a goal back with around ten minutes of normal time remaining. However, after drawing the scores level at 2-2 with a last minute penalty converted by Lindsey Beverley, the team finally bowed out by six goals to two after extra-time as Wanderers finished the game with nine players. Su Oakley was red carded for retaliating after a Luton player stamped on her leg following the penalty decision and Amanda Quintel had to leave the field during extra-time due to injury.
