Staines Town 0 Wycombe Wanderers 3 Tuesday 16th July 2013 Friendly A goal apiece from Josh Scowen, Dean Morgan and Jo Kuffour saw Wanderers return from Staines Town with a comfortable 3-0 in their third pre-season friendly before the start of the 2013/1 campaign. Scowen was returning from a light groin strain, while Morgan scored for the third consecutive game as his pre-season continues to flousish. The action saw the hosts go closest to scoring in the opening exchanges when Oluwole Akinsanya’s strike came back off the post on 4 minutes. However, after Kuffour saw an effort blocked and Morgan a shot deflected wide and header saved, it was Wycombe who broked the deadlock on 17 minutes when Scowen followed in a Morgan free-kick to convert from close range. It was 2-0 on 26 minutes when Morgan drilled home high into the net from around 10 yards after good build up work from Scowen, Pittman, Lewis and Kuffour. Wanderers, continued to dominate and made it 3-0 a minute into second period when Kuffour rifled a low shot into the corner of the net from a Marvin MCoy pass. Trialist Arsenio Halfhuid was introduced late in the game. The 21 year old Dutch born player has previously been on the books at Aston Villa but has most recently played his football in the Netherlands. He is said to a defender but has also played as a striker. Final Score - Staines Town 0 Wycombe 3
