Havant & Waterlooville 0 Wycombe Wanderers 1 Saturday 6th July 2013 Friendly A Dean Morgan goal after 63 minutes was enough to see Wanderers win 1-0 at Havant & Waterlooville in their opening friendly prior to the 2013/14 campaign. New signing 'keeper Charlie Horlock saved a stoppage time penalty to ensure victory for Gareth Ainsworth's side. The Wycombe boss gave run outs to four trialists, including a place in the starting line up for 21 year old full-back Colin Hamilton who played 27 times last season for Arbroath in the Scottish Second Division. The other triallists were Cheshunt 20 year old defender Tom Fletcher, striker Steven Craig and left winger Toby Down. The winning goal came after a neat exchange between new signings Nick Arnold (season long loan from Reading) and Paris Cowan-Hall (signed from Plymouth Argyle), with Arnold pulling the ball back for Morgan to covert at the second attempt from around eight yards, to beat former Wanderers loanee Scott Bevan in the home goal. The Conference South side had their best chance to equalise as the game entered stoppage and trialist Steven Craig being penalised for handball. However, Horlock celebrated his new stint at Wycombe by diving at full length to his right to push away Perry Ryan’s spot-kick. Final Score - Havant & Waterlooville 0 Wycombe 1
