U19 GO DOWN TO BRIGHTON

Wanderers' U19's went down 1-0 to Brighton at Molins Sports Ground on Saturday morning in the Umbro Isotonic Youth Alliance. In awkward conditions, Brighton's winner came in the 8th minute when Dean Cox forced the ball over the line from close range. Wycombe's side included triallists Nick Palm and Jermaine Hamilton. Third Year Scholar Stuart Hole has joined Berkhamsted Town on a month long work experience deal. The 18 year old defender will be hoping to play in front of fellow Youth Teamer Tom Gott who has been on a work experience deal with The Ryman League Division One north side since the middle of November. |

COUNTY TO SURVIVE

Notts County look likely to beat the 9th December deadline set by the League to come out of adminstration. Adminstration official Paul Finnity said "As long as there are no unexpected hurdles on the horizon, things should run smoothly from this point onwards." The Blenheim Consortium are thought to be looking at 1st December as the launch date for the take over which will also see a major involvement with the Notts County Suppporters Trust. The trust reached their £250,000 target following a fund raising dinner and donations from the local council. GIBBO ROLE CONFIRMED

Chairboys on the Net can confirm that Terry Gibson's official role at the Club remains as Assistant Manager despite his absence from the bench at all but one of the First Team matches since the departure of Lawrie Sanchez. However, in a slight re-structuring of matchday duties, Gibson is now involved with Reserve Team matches while Fitness coach Peter Cawley has switched to the First Team. Both Gibson and Cawley are also involved with coaching at all levels within the Club. |

TRAINING MATCH V GUNNERS
(Thursday 27th November 2003)
Tony Adams took a Wanderers First Team squad of 18 players to the Arsenal training ground on Thursday to take on a Gunners XI that initially included the likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Martin Keown and Jeremie Aliadiere. The training match eventually ended 3-3 with Wanderers' goals coming from Darren Currie, Gavin Holligan and Craig Faulconbridge.

RESERVES LOSE TO QPR

Wanderers' Reserves travelled to a wet and windy Northwood FC on Tuesday evening where they went down 1-0 to QPR in the Pontins Holiday's Combination. MARSHALL SIGNS ON

It's been confirmed that former Arsenal trainee Scott Marshall has signed a deal with Wycombe until the end of the 2003/4 season. The 30 year old made a surprise First Team debut for Wycombe in the 0-0 draw at Wrexham on Saturday. The Scottish born central defender spent seven years at Highbury making 25 League appearances before a move to Southampton in the summer of 1998. He later moved to Brentford for a £250,000 fee but was released in the close season after a back injury plagued his time at Griffin Park. |

CUP VICTORY FOR U19's

Wanderers' U19's came from behind to snatch a 2-1 victory at Shrewsbury Town on Saturday in the 2nd Round tie of the Umbro Isotonic Youth Alliance Cup. Defender Stuart Hole scored the winner with just five minutes remaining. The draw for the Third Round was made on Monday and will see Wycombe travel to Swansea City on 17th January 2004. SUSPENSION WATCH
(Saturday 22nd November 2003)
Two Wanderers players would have been on their guard during Saturday's game at Wrexham. Jermaine McSporran and Steve Brown are both on four yellow cards so far this season and a further booking would mean an automatic one game suspension. Thankfully both players came through the game without a booking and will now be safe to face both Mansfield and Colchester in up and coming cup ties at Adams Park. |

RESERVES v NORTHAMPTON

Wanderers' Reserves drew 1-1 with Northampton Town on Wednesday afternoon at Adams Park in the Pontins Holiday's Combination. Gavin Holligan, returning after his short spell out through injury, opened the scoring on 59 minutes with a curling left footed effort from around 20 yards. However, after enjoying the better chances, Wanderers conceded a penalty with ten minutes left on the clock when Steve Dell fouled and Marc Richards converted to level the scores. CRAIG BACK AT LAST

Craig Faulconbridge finally made his comeback from injury when, as planned, he put in just over half a game for the Reserves in Wednesday's Combination match with Northampton Town. The striker has been out of action for eight months and seemed to come through the match without too many problems. He will continue his comeback when the Reserves travel to Northwood on Tuesday 25th November to play QPR. |

ANOTHER CAP FOR TED
(Tuesday 18th November 2003)
Mark Rogers picked up some more international experience when he played the final eight minutes for Canada in their 3-0 defeat to the Republic of Ireland at Lansdowne Road, Dublin on Tuesday. 'Ted' came on with the score at 2-0 but within a minute had seen Robbie Keane turn past him to score his second and Ireland's third of the night. GORMAN ON DEPARTURE

John Gorman has dismissed speculation that he stood down from his position at Wycombe in order to take up another assistant role with Glenn Hoddle. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 on Monday evening, Gorman explained that he decided to go as he was finding it awkward stepping back down to coach following the arrival of Tony Adams. He also suggested that his wage would be better invested in the playing side. The Club have still to elaborate on the new role for current assistant Terry Gibson. |

Wanderers' followers were dealt the shock news on Monday afternoon that John Gorman had left the Club. A statement on the official website included no direct quotes from Gorman but added "John felt this was the right time for Tony Adams to make his own way in the job." This latest behind the scenes move comes just days after Club Directors described the Adams/Gorman partnership as 'The Dream Team'. |

As expected Guy Branston has returned to Rotherham following the completion of his second month on loan and an imminent two match suspension for his red card in the LDV game at Plymouth. The central defender made nine League appearances during his brief spell at Wycombe and also scored the winning goal in the LDV game against Cambridge United. |

TED GETS CANADA CAP

Mark Rogers was a 63rd minute substitute for Canada during a 5-1 friendly defeat to the Czech Republic in Teplice on Saturday 15th November. The Wanderers' defender replaced Wigan's Jason deVos with the score already at 3-0. Rogers will be hoping for another cap in the friendly with Republic of Ireland in Dublin on Tuesday 18th November. |

The kick-off time for the game at Brighton on Boxing Day (Friday 26th December) has been brought forward to 1pm to assist in the 'Park and Ride' operations that operate on matchdays at The Withdean. Wycombe fans intending to travel are being urged to use the OWWSA or WWISC supporters coaches as there is no public transport running that day. |

Steve Dell's contract at Wycombe has been extended by a month in order to give Tony Adams a chance of seeing the former Beaconsfield SYCOB defender in action. His initial three month contract expired in the week that Adams was appointed as Wanderers new Manager. |

In Tony Adams' first match in full control of the team, Wanderers were dealt a cruel blow when an injury-time goal from Bees' substitute Jay Tabb saw the visitors snatch an undeserved 2-1 victory. Eddie Hutchinson had put the Bees ahead after 29 minutes but Jermaine McSporran fired in an equaliser in the 2nd half and had the better chances to have won the game. Wanderers' Under 19's put in a good performance as they drew 1-1 with league leaders Colchester United on Saturday morning at Molins Sports Ground in the UMBRO Isotonic Youth Alliance. Robert Tungatt headed Wycombe into a 10th minute lead when he followed up a shot by Matty Fox which had been well saved by U's 'keeper Mark Cousins. However, the visitors levelled on 23 minutes when Danny Irving curled in a free-kick from the left hand edge of the box. RUBY WINS AWARD

Darren Currie has won the FA Cup 'Player of the Round' award for his part in Wanderers 4-1 victory over Swindon following an online poll on thefa.com website. Wanderers fans rallied around to see that midfielder got 52% of votes from the three nominated players. 'Ruby' will receive £1000 worth of UMBRO football kit and equipment for donation to a local school, club or organisation of his choice as well as an engraved salver as a keepsake. In a press release, Currie said "I've never won anything like this before and I'm savouring every moment."

TWO MORE TRIALLISTS

Two more triallists joined Wanderers in the week for training. They are 21 year old goalkeeper John Rydahl from Danish side Hik and 24 year old striker Ole Budtz who is currently playing for Cercle Brugge in the Belgium League but who is also Danish with experience at Roskilde and the Danish U18 and U19 sides. |

Speculation continues on a possible move to Wycombe by Gilles Grimandi. Club Chairman Ivor Beeks has confirmed via the local press that the former Arsenal player is a player that has been suggested by new boss Tony Adams. Grimandi has been linked with a possible Player/Coach position at Wycombe but it comes at the same time that questions are being asked by Wanderers fans of the role that Terry Gibson now has at the Club following the sacking of Lawrie Sanchez in September. |

A camera crew from ITV's Nationwide Football League round-up programme will follow Tony Adams first game in full control of the Wanderers when Brentford visit Adams Park on Saturday. RESERVES LOSE TO BEES

Wanderers' reserve Pontins Holiday's Cup match with Brentford at Adams Park ended on a sour note when a last minute penalty for an alledged foul by Luke Oliver gave Brentford a 2-1 victory. Then in stoppage time substitute Billy Harding was shown a straight red card for comments to the referee. Earlier in the game former Holmer Green youngster Stephen Hughes had fired the visitors into a 28th minute lead but Wanderers drew level four minutes later when Andy Frampton slashed an Andy Bell cross from the right into his own net. With media hacks quick to rubbish Wanderers' gate of 4,738 for the FA Cup tie with Swindon, it's worth noting that it was the 9th highest of the 40 ties played over the weekend. Of the 13 Second Division clubs playing at home, only Sheff Wed v Salisbury (11,419), Bournemouth v Bristol Rovers (7,200) and Tranmere v Chesterfield (5,633) were higher than the gate at Adams Park. The average gate for the round was 3,835. |

LDV PRICES DROPPED

The Club have announced heavily reduced advanced ticket prices for the LDV Vans Trophy tie with Colchester United at Adams Park on Tuesday 9th December. They are: Seats £10 adults, £5 seniors and students, £2 under 16's. Terrace £5 adults, £3 seniors and students and £1 under 16's. Also any advance adult ticket is entitled to one free junior ticket. |

It's been announced that SKY TV will broadcast live Wanderers Second Round FA Cup clash with Mansfield Town at Adams Park on Friday 5th December with a 7.45pm KO. It will mean that both Wycombe and Mansfield will pick up a cheque for £50,000 for the broadcasting rights to the tie. |

Craig Faulconbridge has returned to full training and is hoping to make an appearance for the Reserves in the home game with Brentford this Wednesday (12th Nov). Wanderers were drawn at home to Third Division Mansfield Town in the Second Round of the FA Cup when the draw took place on Sunday afternoon. Former Cameroon international striker Simon Atangana has been training with the Wanderers this past week and could play for the reserves next Wednesday (12th November). The 24 year old, whose real first name is Mvondo, spent time at Colchester United last season, making seven appearances, but left shortly after the arrival of Phil Parkinson. He's been playing recently at Halstead Town following a brief spell at Grays Athletic. Previous to that he made a few appearances for Dundee United and during the 2001/2002 season appeared on loan for Port Vale against Wycombe in a Division Two fixture at Vale Park. |

It looks like the Tony Adams influence has already taken hold with news coming through that Wanderers Division Two game at Sheffield Wednesday will now be screened live by Sky TV on Friday 30th January 2004 with a 7.45pm kick-off. YOUTH TEAM OUT OF CUP

Wanderers' Under 18's threw away a 2-0 lead as they were defeated 4-2 after extra-time by Swindon Town in the FA Youth Cup Second Round at Adams Park on Wednesday evening. Goals from Matty Fox and Leon Gordon put Wycombe in the driving seat only to concede twice inside the final 12 minutes of normal time. John Gorman has confirmed that he will select the side for Saturday's FA Cup meeting with Swindon Town at Adams Park. Gorman has agreed to stay on to assist new boss Tony Adams but will pick the team to play against the side he managed ten years ago. Adams will take total control of team affairs from Monday (10th November). LDV VICTORY AT PLYMOUTH

John Gorman signed off as caretaker boss of the Wanderers by seeing his side win through to the 3rd Round of the LDV Vans Trophy via a dramatic penalty shoot-out at Plymouth Argyle. Chairboys on the Net can confirm that a Press Conference has been called by the Club for 11am on Wednesday to announce Wanderers' new Manager. Reliable sources with connections to the Club suggest that the news "will both surprise and delight most people. This appears to rule out John Gorman as Manager but there are suggestions he may still retain a role on the coaching side. The national and local media continue to link Tony Adams with the job but all will be revealed on Wednesday.

Wanderers went down 2-0 at the County Ground on Saturday and returned to the bottom of the Division Two table. John Gorman said to the local press before the game “It’s a big game for me and a lot of people are talking about my position but it is an even bigger game for the Club because the most important thing is that Wycombe Wanderers stay in the Second Division this season”.
