After the long journey Wycombe conceded an early goal when Ross Stephens drove home from 15 yards when Wycombe failed to clear a corner. However, Wycombe replied quickly and good work from Lee Parrack released Nathaniel Griffiths on the left side of the box and he slotted home a good equaliser. Shrewsbury had the best of the first half, hitting the post, but were unable to add to their tally. Wycombe improved in the second half and were more than a match for Shrewsbury in an exciting cup tie. Shrewsbury hit the bar during a period of pressure but Wycombe were also unlucky when James Rogers cut inside his man but saw his shot bounce off the crossbar. With five minutes left Stuart Hole drilled a 25 yard free kick low into the far corner past the Shrewsbury wall to win the match. The draw for the Third Round has seen Wanderers given another away tie, this time at Swansea City on Saturday 17th January 2004. Final Score Shrewsbury 1 Wycombe 2
