DOBSON NEW ASSISTANT
(Thursday 30th June 2011)
Wanderers' Head of Youth Richard Dobson has been confirmed as Gary Waddock's new First Team Assistant. The 35 year old originally took on the role on a temporary basis following the resignation of Martin Kuhl towards the end of April 2011 but has now accepted the offer of a permanent post while still retaining his duties with the Youth side which he has held since January 2008. Commenting on the appointment via the official website, Gary Waddock said "He was my number one choice for the role and I've really enjoyed working with him. He fitted in extremely well with the first team at the end of the season and I think this is the right role for him at this time in his career. He's done an outstanding job with the youth department and we have an excellent relationship. I also think it will be good for the players to be working with a familiar face." Dobson joined Wanderers in 2007 as part of the Centre of Excellence team, the former Brentford player also took temporary charge of the First Team on Peter Taylor's departure in October 2009. |
