NEWPORT HOME KO CHANGE
(Tuesday 29th October 2013)
The Club announced on Tuesday what appears to be a controversial decision to change to the kick-off time for the Boxing Day meeting with Newport County at Adams Park. Kick-off will now be 12.30pm instead of the previously publicised and conventional 3pm. A statement on the official website read "After careful consideration, the club has decided that a number of factors are likely to attract a larger attendance at this time, including avoiding a clash with the televised Premier League fixture that afternoon." Current schedules show that BT Sport are broadcasting live coverage of the West Ham v Arsenal (3pm KO). However, Sky are showing Hull City v Manchester United (12.45pm KO) and Manchester City v Liverpool (5.30pm KO). The Wanderers previous Boxing Day home game was in 2011 versus Exeter City and the 3pm KO attracted an attendance of 4,904. |

BLOOMS CLOSES IN ON 300
(Monday 28th October 2013)
Matt Bloomfield sending off versus Bury came on his 298th First Team appearance for the Wanderers - not the 299th as reported by many other media outlets. The confusion is believed to have come about due to including the abandoned game at Portsmouth. It was the first red card of Bloomfield's pro career and his three match ban will mean his landmark 300th appearance for Wycombe will now have to wait until after the home game at Cheltenham Town on Saturday 16th November. WYCOMBE 1 BURY 2
(Saturday 26th October 2013)
Matt Bloomfield was sent off for the Wanderers as his side fell to a 2-1 home defeat to lowly Bury at Adams Park. It came after an unchanged Wycombe side had led thanks to a 15th minute strike from Anthony Stewart. Further chances fell Wycombe's way to extend the lead but a poor defensive showing in the second half saw the visitors equalise on 69 minutes through Tom Soares. Six minutes later, a hot headed lunge in slippery conditions by Bloomfield on Shaun Beeley saw referee Darren Deadman instantly show his red card. Wanderers nightmare day was compounded on 88 minutes when William Edjenguele headed in Chris Sedgwick's corner. Wycombe are now 12th in the table. Wycombe 1 Bury 2 - report and reaction |

POMPEY ABANDONED
(Tuesday 22nd October 2013)
Wanderers game at Portsmouth on Tuesday evening was abandoned at half-time due to a waterlogged pitch with the scores level at 1-1. Fielding an unchanged starting XI, Billy Knott fired Wanderers into the lead after 30 minutes with a shot that went in off the underside of the crossbar following a corner. Patrick Agyemang equalised for the hosts a minute before the break but with almost constant rain for the entirity of the first half, it was no surprise when the officials called a halt to proceedings. A new date has since been arranged for Wednesday 4th December, unless both sides are knocked out of the FA Cup at the First Round stage, when it will take place on Saturday 7th December. Wanderers team v Portsmouth: Ingram, Arnold, Stewart, Hause, Scowen; Lewis, Scowen, Knott, Bloomfield, Cowan-Hall, Kuffour - subs not used: Horlock, McCoy, Doherty, Wood, Kretzschmar, Pittman, McClure - Att: 14,285 (556 away) |

WYCOMBE 3 TORQUAY 2
(Saturday 12th October 2013)
Paris Cowan-Hall scored two second half goals as Wanderers came from behind twice to beat Torquay United 3-2 in a thriller at Adams Park on Saturday. Jo Kuffour's determination on 28 minutes first levelled the goals after former Wanderer Ade Azeez had given the visitors the lead a minute earlier. A rare error of judgement from Matt Ingram saw The Gulls regain the lead on 37 minutes when Krystian Pearce headed home a corner but it was former Plymouth striker Cowan-Hall who netted headers on 53 and 77 minutes to turn the score around and bring League victory to Wycombe for this first time in four weeks. Wanderers are now 9th in the table. Wycombe 3 Torquay 2 - report and reaction |

WYCOMBE 2 BRISTOL CITY 1
(Tuesday 8th October 2013)
Wanderers made it into the Southern Area Quarter-Final of the Football League Trophy following a 2-1 victory over Bristol City at Adams Park on Tuesday evening. A Wycombe side with four changes to the starting XI that had lost to Burton at the weekend got off to a great start when loanee Billy Knott fired home high into the net from Matt Bloomfield's assist on 9 minutes. Bloomfield, making his first start since August 2012, netted himself on 27 minutes with a low shot past former Wanderer Frank Fielding. The visitors pulled a goal back on 56 minutes through Brendan Moloney but the Championship side were unable to break through a resolute Wanderers' defence.

WYCOMBE 1 BURTON 2
(Saturday 5th October 2013)
Charles Dunne was red carded as Wanderers' hit and miss season continued on Saturday with a 2-1 home defeat to Burton Albion. Dunne had returned to the side following a three match ban for his sending-off at Oxford but saw red again for a second bookable offence two minutes into the second half. By that time Wycombe were already a goal behind from Billy Kee's strike from the edge of the box on 26 minutes. The visitors were then gifted another goal on 52 minutes when a clumsy challenge by Gary Doherty on Kee saw a penalty awarded and the same player convert. Matt McClure struck a 90th minute goal to set-up an unlikely and ultimately unsuccessful comeback by Wycombe who are now 13th in the table.
