Gary Goodchild - picture Paul DennisYouth team manager Gary Goodchild's was furious after the game,

"I don't want to see us perform in this poor way! Off course, we have just started pre-season training, while the Norwegians are halfway through their season. But I still want to see my players more committed and concentrated."

After the final whistle, he ordered the lads to the corner of the pitch. Then he stood in front of them and spoke for more than ten minutes. "I'm very, very disappointed after watching us today. I don't care about the result or the play, I'm more interested in seeing who wants to be a professional footballer. I couldn't find any on the pitch!"
"Where's the attitude? I'm not satisfied with our efforts or the mental preparations for some of our games here in Norway. We ended up with a sixth place in JET 1999, last summer, and despite missing many older players, we could have done a better performance" he said.

Some of the Wycombe players after the draw against Raufoss - pic Allan AasterudGoodchild agreed that 1-1 against Raufoss was a better game than the Moss-game, but he claimed that some of his players were living in a different world on Saturday morning. he told his players "You won't make it into the first team if you don't wake up soon. We had a terrific season in 1999/2000 but that's history. Nothing is easy, you'll have to work very, very hard to achieve glory. Are you up for it?"

The manager may have been disappointed after the game, but he also tried to be constructive in his critical approach. "I talked to the players as unit now, but later tonight I'll speak to everyone of them in private to give them feedback. Still, the most important thing is that the squad have enjoyed it socially and won three games. Several players are newcomers, and they have fitted in. Everyone has been in action as well"

Wycombe returned to action on Sunday where they beat Norwegian side Bryne by 2 goals to 1 in a B Final consolation match. Both Wycombe's goal came from Peter Holsgrove.

Wycombe Team (4-4-2): Mark Osborn - John Hopcraft, Ben Townsend, Roger Johnson, Ronnie Girvan - Jack Smillie, Ian Simpemba, Ryan McCullaugh, Lewis Cook - John Dixon, Peter Holsgrove.
