200 NOT OUT FOR SANCHEZ (Saturday 21st September 2002) Lawrie Sanchez will take take charge of his 200th competitive game as Wycombe Manager in the Division Two game with Brentford at Griffin Park on Saturday 21st September 2002. COTN brought you the stats leading up to Sanchez's 100th game in charge when Wycombe made the trip to Millwall in the 2nd Round of the FA Cup in December 2000 and also the 150th game when Bournemouth visited Adams Park on Saturday 13th October 2001. Sanchez goes into the game at Brentford on the back of three straight defeats and they have never lost four straight League games since Sanchez arrived at Wycombe in February 1999. Results leading up to the 200th game have seen the Wycombe boss verbally criticised by some Wycombe followers but Sanchez hit back in the local press by commenting to the Bucks Free Press "People said I was just using this club as a platform for other things now those same people are saying let's get rid of him.". But Sanchez says that his team will battle on regardless. "It has just drawn everyone closer together. We had a chat and they are fully committed to it and buoyant" Club Chairman Ivor Beeks also gave Sanchez a vote of confidence, adding "I'm convinced he is the best person for us. He has done an excellent job. You don't become a bad manager overnight" Sanchez is the longest serving Manager at Wycombe since Martin O'Neill but has managed more Football League games for The Wanderers than the Irishman. This is a statistical look at how Lawrie's done for The Chairboys since joining in February 1999.
