Background:
Signed a two year deal with the Wanderers in July 2009 under Peter Taylor after his contract with Peterborough United was cancelled following their promotion to the Championship Originally a trainee at Wolves, Westwood switched to Reading in 1998 but after limited First Team opportunities moved to Hartlepool where he went on to make more than 250 appearances. Opted to join Walsall in July 2005 before his move to Peterborough two years later. Made more than 50 First Team appearances for the Posh but fell from favour during the 2008/09 season and was loaned to Cheltenham Town. Still had a year of contract to run when Wanderers moved in to sign the then 32 year old.
Made 62 First Team appearances during his spell with the Wanderers where he was part of the squad that were relegated from League One at the end of the 2009/10 season but who also bounced straight back at the end of the 2010/11 campaign under Gary Waddock. Offered a new one year deal to stay at Wycombe but amid speculation of a move to Conference side Wrexham, turned down the offer and formally left the Club on 31st May 2011.
