Background: Signed in December 1996 by John Gregory following a short loan spell from Notts County. His fee was eventually set at £50,000 in February 1997 by a tribunal. Was in and out of the side the following season and asked for a transfer at the end of August 1998. However, 'Simo's form thrived under the wing of Lawrie Sanchez and he's been virtually ever-present since while becoming something of a cult figure with the fans in the process. Sometimes has little too much to say to the men in black, which has consequently cost him a few games suspended. Deservedly Player of the Season in 2002/3.
Released by Tony Adams at the end of the 2003/4 season and went on to join Leyton Orient.
