Background: 6'1" midfielder who became Wanderers fifth signing of the close season following the end of the 2004/5 campaign. Originally started his senior football with Woking before an £80,000 move to Fulham during the 1998/99 season. Made a handful of appearances for The Cottagers before eventually transfering to Barnsley in March 2002 for a £200,000 fee. Went on to make close to 100 appearances for The Tykes, scoring 17 times before a free transfer to Oldham in September 2004. Has also has brief loan spells with Hull City, Bournemouth and Hartlepool. Moved to Wycombe after failing to agree new terms at Oldham. Latics boss Ronnie Moore commented to the Oldham Evening Chronicle in May 2005 "I have spoken to Kevin's agent and the money he is looking for is ridiculous." He added, "I would love to keep Kevin because he is a quality player who has improved since we came here. I'm sure there will be a lot of interest in Kevin but I can't see him getting the money he was on at Barnsley anywhere else." Meanwhile, Wycombe boss John Gorman commented to the Wanderers official website "Kevin will certainly strengthen our squad." He added "He's a versatile midfielder who can perform in a number of roles across the park and at 27 I'm hoping he will bring more fire power to the midfield. I'm delighted to have signed such an experienced player."
Having firmly established himself in the Wanderers side, Betsy opted to join then 'League One' side Bristol City during the January 2007 transfer window for a £150,000 fee. Wanderers boss Paul Lambert commented to the press at the time "I'm disappointed to lose him, but that's the game. He's wanted to go for a number of weeks since Bristol first showed an interest and he's on his way there now." He added, "I tried to persuade him to stay but he wanted to go. It's his decision not ours"
