Background: Originally played as a schoolboy for Swindon Town but was released after failing to gain a scholarship. However, after time with the Cirencester Academy he was spotted by Plymouth Argyle and signed for them following a trial in the summer of 2004, aged 17. He progressed through the youth ranks at Home Park and made his First Team debut on 23 August 2005 as substitute in Argyle's 2-1 home League Cup victory over Peterborough United. He made his Football League debut four days later, again as substitute, when Hull City were the visitors to Home Park. Two more substitute appearances followed that season before signing a one year professional deal. However, he was sacked from Argyle the following August after a training bust up and signed for Millwall in September 2006, making his first Football League start in their 2-1 defeat at Gillingham on 12 September 2006 and scoring his first senior goal in the 1-1 draw with Port Vale at The New Den on 28th October 2006. Had a short loan spell at Oxford United at the end of that season and was part of the team that lost out in the Conference play-offs to Exeter City. It was during a season long loan spell with Torquay United that he came to prominence and was noticed by Wycombe Manager to be Peter Taylor. Taylor, then Manager of Conference side Stevenage Borough, noticed stats of 18 goals in 46 appearances for The Gulls and that was enough for Taylor to grab his signature on his release from Millwall at the end of the 2007/2008 season.
Commenting after signing the 21 year old, Peter Taylor said, "He's another young player with lots of potential who I'm sure can really inject something new into the side. He can play up front or on the wing but wherever he plays he will get goals and that's why we've brought him in." Meanwhile, the player said after signing his two year deal at Adams Park, "I'm really looking forward to it. The club is close to home, they've got a good manager in charge and it's a club that's going places. I don't know too much about the club's background but I do know that are a big club for League Two and they have big potential. He added, "I've got pace and I love with running the ball at defenders. I'll always give 100% and do my best for the team. I prefer playing as a striker but I'll be happy to play on the wing if the gaffer wants me to. I just really can't wait to get started. I've never worked with the gaffer before but I know he's got a good reputation of working with young players and I look forward to learning from him."
