Background: Joined Wycombe in March 2002 on a contract until the end of the 2003/4 season. At 6'3" Thomson is a dominating figure who was presumably brought in as extra cover in Wycombe's defence behind Paul McCarthy and Mark Rogers. Former Swindon Town trainee who made his professional debut on the final day of the 1993/94 season when Town were relegated from the Premiership. Virtually ever-present for Rovers since he joined them in January 1999 in a £50,000 deal from Portsmouth and won their Supporters' Player of the Season award in 1999/2000.
Was told by Wanderers' boss Tony Adams in January 2004 that his contract would not be renewed at the end of the season.
