Background: Prior to signing for a Wycombe for a reported fee of £75,000 he was being tracked by several Football League and Premier League clubs. He had been on trial at Arsenal earlier in the 1998/99 season where he had scored for their reserve side.
What we think: Very quick and since signing for Wycombe scored some memorable goals. In fact, every goal 'Jocky' gets seems to be a net buster. We remember wonder strikes at home to Lincoln and two goals at Molineux in the Worthington Cup that had scouts up and down the country taking note. Sadly missed the second-half of the 2000/2001 following a knee injury at Wigan but returned for the start of the next season where he started to hit the target again. Tragically injured again during training in April 2002 and was sidelined this time until February 2003. The 2003/4 season always looked like being the proverbial 'make or break' season for 'Jocky' at Wycombe. He was awarded the No.10 shirt following the departure of Sean Devine and it seemed to bring him some luck as he become Wanderers top scorer. However, there was shock news in March 2004 when, with Wycombe heading to Division Three, it was was announced that he was leaving to join First Division Walsall on a free transfer.
