Background: Highly experienced player who joined Wycombe on a 'match to match' basis in March 2005. Originally moved into the full-time game via non-League Hornchurch before making his mark at both Charlton Athletic and Newcastle United. Progressed to become Captain of the Newcastle side and also gained full international honours with England. Eventually dropped down to play for Derby County, West Ham and then Oldham Athletic before John Gorman stepped in to give him a chance with Wycombe. Gorman commented at the time of the signing, ""He's top quality. He sees things and can do things that other players can't. He will be a great asset to us. He is a wonderful player. He's got that ability to change and control a game. If we are winning, he can come on and slow the game down and if we are chasing a game he is the type of player who can unlock the door. He's been with us for a month now, he's proved his fitness and his ability is beyond question." Lee then went on to comment via the Wanderers official website "The players here like to pass the ball. John Gorman likes to get people to play football which is the way I want to play." He added, "The reason I'm here is to help Wycombe at the very least get into the play-offs. If we win the majority of our games it's still in our hands to get automatic promotion."
