Background: Joined Wanderers' Centre of Excellence aged 12 following his release from Charlton Athletic. Burst on to First Team scene with Wycombe during the pre-season games before the 2011/12 season - scoring from long range in the friendly at Staines Town on 9th July 2011. He then went on to become the youngest player to date to turn out for Wycombe Wanderers in a competitive match since they were promoted to the Football League in 1993. Ibe, born in December 1995, was just 15 years and 244 days old when he came on as substitute against Colchester United in the Football League Cup tie at Adams Park on 10th August 2011.
Later that month he would become the youngest Wycombe player to play in the Football League when he appeared as a late substitute aged 15 years and 311 days in the League One fixture at Hartlepool on 15th October 2011. His rise to prominence continued on 29th October when he scored for Wycombe in a 2-1 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on 29th October 2011 to set another club record as the youngest player to date to score for the Club in the Football League and most likely in the history of the Club.
However, his exploits had not gone unnoticed and after rumours linking the youngster with moves to Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool, plus reports of a deal being turned down from Fulham, it was Liverpool that eventually agreed a deal to take the then 16 year old for an 'undisclosed fee' confirmed by the Wanderers on 20 December 2011.
