Background: Forsyth
began his football career as an apprentice at West Brom in 1983 before moving to
Derby County in 1986 for a £25,000 fee. He made over 350 appearances for Derby
before switching to Notts County in February 1995 for £200,000. A former
England Under 21 and Youth Team player, he was also a member of Derby's 1987
Division Two Championship winning side.
Signed for Wycombe by John Gregory and quickly became regular in
the side before injury ultimately ended his pro playing career..
What we think: It was a serious leg injury in March 1998 kept him out of the side for more than 12 months but was used to great effect towards the end of the 1998/99 campaign - his return to the side being the memorable occasion at Maine Road in April 1999. His injury forced him out of the game but he has since returned to Wycombe as a part time coach during the 2000/2001 season and is taking over the Reserve Team Manager's position as from the start of the 2001/2002 campaign. |
