ALL THERE IS TO SAY AND KNOW ABOUT WYCOMBE WANDERERS ON THE INTERNET.... |
FORSYTH
IS NEW RESERVE BOSS (Tuesday 12th June 2001) Former Wanderers' defender Michael Forsyth will be the new Reserve Team boss at Adams Park when the 2001/2002 season starts. Current Reserve boss Terry Gibson will now concentrate his efforts as a full-time assistant to Manager Lawrie Sanchez. Forsyth, who originally played for Wycombe between December 1996 and May 1999, rejoined The Chairboys last season as a coach specifically used for the 'fringe' First Team players. The move to Reserve Manager seems a natural progression and he will take up his role officially on 1st July. Chairboys on the Net understands that the change around behind the scenes at Adams Park comes after proposals to scrap the Reserves Team were over-ruled by the Wycombe Board. It's thought that Lawrie Sanchez was keen to dispense with the Reserve set-up and use a reduced squad system in an effort to reduce running costs. The reserves have struggled in the Avon Insurance Combination since moving from the Capital League at the end of the 1997/98 season but are seen as a vital outlet for triallists and players returning to fitness.
