Background:
Central defender best known for his ten year spell with home town club Brighton and Hove Albion. Clocked up close to 350 First Team appearances for The Seagulls after signing as Trainee in 2004. Also has seven International caps to his name with Egypt.

Signed for Wanderers in July 2017 on a two year deal following his release from Shrewsbury Town. Commenting on the deal, Manager Gareth Ainsworth told the Wanderers official website: "Adam is a player that I’ve always admired, going back to my playing days when he was a nightmare to come up against! He’s a real warrior – very strong, committed and good in the air. He’s also exactly the type of character that will fit right into this squad; he’s got excellent leadership qualities and will also be a great help to the younger defenders at the club. I’m delighted to bring him here and look forward to seeing him provide extra competition in the centre of defence."

After a successful first season with Wanderers, including captaining the side to promotion to League One, was awarded a one year contract extension in May 2018 by Gareth Ainsworth, with the Wycombe Manager commenting: “Adam made a fantastic impact on the squad from the moment he joined and his performances on the pitch, coupled with his leadership and character off the pitch, have made him a hugely important member of the whole club. He has played most of his career at a higher level and that experience will be invaluable for us as we look to build on the progress we’ve made and establish ourselves in League One."

A regular again in the Wanderers defence during the 2018/19 season back on League One and played two games at the start of the 2019/20 campaign before injury ruled him out prior to the new of his departure on Monday 2nd September 2019 (deadline day). The news came as complete surprise for the majority of Wycombe followers - with the official statement reading: "Wanderers captain Adam El-Abd has left the club by mutual consent to explore opportunities elsewhere." The statement went on to quote Gareth Ainsworth as saying: "Adam was captain material from the day he walked into the club and gave absolutely everything out on the pitch to help us achieve our goals. Because of that,he’ll always be fondly remembered around the place and I’m sorry to see him go. I wish him every success for the future and I’m sure our paths will cross again in the future.”
