Youth Alliance news for 2007/8
The Youth Alliance was restructured for the 2005/6 season with the end of season 'Merit matches' being replaced by an expanded League programme. For the 2007/8 season Wanderers play in a thirteen team 'South East Conference' as opposed to an eight team division prior to 2005/6.

A new format for the League Cup was also introduced in 2005/6 that sees teams from the South East Conference and South West Conference regions split into four groups. For the 2007/8 season there were three groups (two of eight and one of seven). Each side played each other once in their group with the group winners going through to contest semi-finals and then a final to establish a South Winner. The South winner will then faced the North Winners in the overall final. For the 2007/8 season Wanderers were drawn in the same group as Cheltenham Town, Exeter City, Northampton Town, Peterborough United, Rushden & Diamonds and Hereford United. Having won the group they were they thrashed Hereford United in the Second Round but then lost to Brighton in the following round. The eventual winners of the competition were Hull City, who beat Colchester United in the Final.
