(First published 23rd January 2006)
Tributes left at Adams Park for Mark More written tributes left by Wycombe supporters in memory of Mark Philo who tragically died on 14th January 2006.

A Star went out over Wycombe on Saturday Lyn Blue

Might we offer our deepest sympathies to the Philo family at this sad time.We were shocked to hear of the accident after returning home from the game. R.I.P. Mark, a talent that will be sorely missed John and Fran Barnes

There are very few of today's generation that can walk in his foot-steps... Such a person as he can only be compared with an angel. His talents and all the promised has been denied us by a cruel turn of fate. Mark Philo Rest-In-Peace... Condolences to his family and all who knew him our world is a lesser place without him. Wayne Scott

With the individual talent he had, as he demonstrated against Portsmouth, he will be a star very much missed as a player. But it will be as a man that he will be truely missed so i offer, for what its worth, my condolences to everyone who felt some affinity with him. You will live on in our memories. We will all miss you Mark J

Sleep Well Mark. You had a wonderful gift with your tallent that you dint hide and better yet you did not let it go to your head. I hope this Pitch in heaven is good. Jamie

As a Wanderers fan who unfortunatly cant get to every match owing to living down on the south coast, i would like to express my sincere condolences to Mark's family and also to the team itself. It is always upsetting when someone soo young is taken from us but in Mark's case someone who also had promissing talent, but due to injury was never given the chance to shine in the league. If there is a football league in haeven then Mark is probably now playing for the best side up there. Rest In Peace Mark Phillip Thorley

Mark sadly missed and forever in our hearts, R.I.P Son. I'm challenging all Wycombe fans to really get behind the team and spur them on to Glory, Lets win this League for Mark Philo, I have no doubt he will be urging and willing the team he loved so much on, from Footy Heaven. The FlimFlamMan

What can one say about young Mark Philo?
his skill would give you a warm friendly glow.
A drop of the shoulder, a quick turn of pace
It was evident to most he'd be a first team ace.

By learning his craft at Molins in the Youth Team
He broke into the firsts with a touch most can dream
Premiership Portsmouth made to look no more than average
Layed out for a while with an injury that was savage

On returning to fitness he made his first bow
Against none other than our old enemy Slough
They were seen off with Milton Keynes too
Then in the final Aylesbury's defence was cut right through

Wycombe won their first trophy for eleven long years
Just eight months later we are reduced to tears
A tragic accident inside of a car
Denied us all of a great superstar

RIP Mark Philo, thanks for the memories.

I may not be much of a poet, but I watched him play at Molins, grow into the Reserves at Aylesbury and then Adams Park. Before finally breaking into the first team. I don't think the club has ever had the fortune of having such a great natural talent before. I genuinely believe he could have gone on to bigger things. I am absolutely gutted at the news. My thoughts are with his friends and family.
William Poths

Such a tragic loss to his family and friends. A bright light has faded and passed. Goodbye Mark Clarkee73

My own 21 year old son has expressed his thoughts in far more eloquent terms than I could ever do. I have tried to think how I would feel as a parent in such tragic circumstances but that only adds to the pain already felt. Mark showed so much talent and promise in the few games we saw him in and that injury pre last season came at such a cruel time, when we all hoped to see him break into the first team. Our sympathies go out to Mark's family and friends and to those who knew him so well at WWFC. A young man who clearly made such a huge impression on so many people that met him. Sympathy and condolences also to the family of the other driver involved. I still feel a sense of numbness that I will not see Mark play for us again. I am sure he will be looking down on his former teammates and willing them on to even greater exploits for the rest of this season. I am sure that they will be trying even harder to win this league in his memory. Alan Cecil

rest in peace Mark. We will never forget you. My sincere condolences to the family and friends of everyone affected by this terrible tragedy eric plant

A great loss to all of us associated with Wycombe Wanderers and to all his friends and family. He was a player with great potential to flourish during his career, and to lose someone so young and talented is tragic. My condolences go to all his friends, family and those at Wycombe who knew him well. R.I.P. lawbreaker

My family and I would like to offer our condolences on the sad loss of this very promising player. Our hearts go out to his family and to the other family involved in this tragic accident. We are a family club and it is at times like these when families come together to form that special bond. That young man may be gone from this world but his memory will live on, as have other before him. God Bless young man. Dibley Jim and family

We all feel desperately sorry for Mark's family, and for the relatives of the other victim of this terrible accident. Now we can only guess just how great a player Mark might have become, but the signs were all there. We had glimpses of it two years ago when, in an otherwise all too forgettable season, his promotion to the first team provided a ray of hope for the future. But for his injuries, who knows what kind of magic he and Nathan might have woven together? For this appalling tragedy to strike just as Mark was making his comeback only makes it worse. But apart from the memories, Mark has left us with something else, something very valuable: the realisation that this may be a small club, but it is a mighty one. Everything from the extraordinary dignity of the club's representatives to the moving posts left here in Mark's memory, is proving that. Together, we are all stronger. And this will be Mark Philo's season. Respectfully, Bill Turnbull
