Fowler applauds the Wycombe fans in a Jason Cousins shirt - surrealRobbie Fowler has gained the respect of Wycombe fans even after he scored the free-kick that ended Wycombe's dream of reaching the FA Cup Final. Fowler exchanged shirts with Jason Cousins after the final whistle and was the only Liverpool player to make the effort to applaud the Wycombe fans packed into the Holte End.

Speaking after the game on ITV sport he said "To be fair to Wycombe everyone of their players has performed magnificently. It's great for us to get to the Cup Final but they made us fight for it"

Fowler also mentioned Wycombe in his diary on his own official website, commenting "We knew we had to be patient against Wycombe. Just as we had worked hard as a team against Barcelona, Wycombe gave their all against us. They defended very well and every one of their players worked very hard. Fair play to them, they gave us a good game."

He added "It's amazing how teams can raise their game on occasions. Wycombe have struggled lately with their league form, but I reckon that if they played every week like they did on Sunday they would have no problems."

Robbie Fowler in a Wycombe shirt on ITV Sport - don't throw it in the bin mate!Cousins fought off Paul McCarthy to claim the Liverpool star's shirt and Cousins said after the game "Robbie Fowler was walking about in a Jason Cousins shirt at the end. I'm sure that will end up in the bin but I'll treasure the one he gave me."
