Background:
Wanderers confirmed on Monday 1st August 2016 the signing of this 22 year old central defender on a 'short term contract'. Previously with Austrian club Salzburg, the 6'3" German born central defender, played for Wanderers in the pre-season friendly with Le Havre in July 2016 but was forced off with a hamstring injury on 27 minutes.

Eventually made his First Team debut for Wanderers in the 3-1 victory at Millwall in the Football League Trophy on 3rd December 2016. In early January 2017 was awarded a contract extension until June 2018, with Manager Gareth Ainsworth commenting: “Max has worked extremely hard to get to this stage where he’s ready to get more minutes under his belt and really challenge for a place in the team. I have to give huge credit to Dave Wates and Cian O’Doherty in our medical department for getting Max back to fitness and I’m confident that he can now go from strength to strength and become an important player for us. I know it caught a few fans by surprise when we signed him in the summer because he came into the club completely unknown to most people, but we scouted him closely and knew he was someone with real potential."

Went on to make his Football League debut for Wycombe when he was called into the starting XI for the 4-2 defeat at Exeter City on 31st January 2017. Made six further League starts and two appearances from the bench before the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

Didn't appear to be in Gareth Ainsworth's plans for the following season when after a League Cup appearance versus Fulham on 8th August 2017, was loaned to fellow League Two side Morecambe until January 2018. This deal was subsequently extended until the end of the 2017/18 season. Released by Wycombe on 10th May 2018 with Gareth Ainsworth commenting: “[The released players] found it hard to break into the side due to the strong competition for places in defence, and we felt it was best for all parties to give [him] the opportunity to look for first-team football elsewhere. [The released players have] been brilliant to work with and gave their full support to the other lads when they weren’t in the team. I hope our paths cross again and that they’re able to enjoy long, successful careers in the game.”
