Background: Another pre-season 2004/5 find for Tony Adams' scouting team. Martin orginates from the Brighton area and had appeared for Varndean College and been involved in the England College side as well as appearing for Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Youth Cup during the 2003/4 season. Also went on trial at Charlton Athletic and played a few games for Lewes at non-League senior level before being spotted by Wycombe and given a chance in Tony Adams' new look squad for 2004/5. Came on as a late substitute in Wanderers opening game of the 2004/5 campaign to make his Football League debut and give him the hope that he may feature again throughout the season. Continued to impress new boss John Gorman and was awarded an extended contract at the end of the 2004/5 season. Signed another extension to his contract in the summer of 2006 following the arrival of Paul Lambert as Gorman's replacement. |
