Background: His move to Wycombe in May 2005 marked a return to the Football League for the 6' striker. Originally the subject of a transfer from Chippenham Town to Swindon Town in February 1999, he spent a year and a half at The County Ground before dropping back down into non-League football with Woking. Has scored regularly at Conference level including seventeen strikes for Forest Green Rovers during season 2004/5 despite their relegation. It was a feat that got him noticed by a number of League clubs, including Darlington and Mansfield Town. Griffin trained with the Wanderers prior to be signed by Wycombe Manager John Gorman, who went on to commented to the press "He's shown a little something in the time we've had him and I think he can step up. He's got a real hunger about him and he knows where the goal is." Gorman added "He's got a lot to learn and if he can do that I can only see him having a bright future." |
