Reserve Team match report

Wycombev St Edmunds
Sunday 14th September 2003

The Reserves’ season got off to a poor start with 6-1 defeat at the hands of St Edmunds. Canadian Renee Kwantes was named Player of the Match, but overall it was a disappointing performance, that provides plenty of scope for improvement over the weeks to come.

The visitors scored twice in the first quarter of an hour and although Blues pulled one back before the break through Stephanie Dean as she pounced on a rebound, Wycombe never really settled after the early goals.

The second half began brightly. Blues had more possession and Alison Barry had a shot hit the crossbar, but soon the floodgates opened and the visitors put four past struggling goalkeeper “Buttons”. Laura McLean almost scored a second half consolation for Wycombe, but her shot was just wide leaving the final score at 6-1.

Final Score Wycombe 1 St Edmunds 6

Squad: Buttons, Laura McLean, Alison Barry, Paula Benson, Amy Watters, Renee Kwantes, Roisin Nellis, Jade Harker, Rebecca Hilton, Laura Coull, Stephanie Dean, Karen Slatter, Marcelle Hutt, Samantha Smith.
