Reserve Team match report

Wycombe v AFC Newbury
Sunday 28th September 2003

The Reserves picked up their first points on Sunday 28th September with a 6-3 home victory over AFC Newbury in a match played on The Rye.

Laura Coull scored a first half hat-trick but Player of the Match went to Alison Barry who played in the centre of midfield and worked tirelessly to win the ball back and create chances. Thali Jenkinson and Claire Burrage returned to the side giving the defence a more familiar look, while Renee Kwantes was with the first team playing an FA Cup qualifier.

The visitors were somewhat depleted, missing a couple of players through injury and illness and Blues took advantage with further goals from Laura McLean, Stephanie Dean and Marcelle Hutt. Newbury showed great determination to come out and keep playing throughout the second half, scoring shortly after the break and another two late on, giving a second half score of 3-3.

Final Score Wycombe 6 AFC Newbury 3

Squad: Buttons, Laura McLean, Alison Barry, Thali Jenkinson, Amy Watters, Claire Burrage, Roisin Nellis, Jade Harker, Rebecca Hilton, Laura Coull, Stephanie Dean, Karen Slatter, Marcelle Hutt, Samantha Smith.
