Wycombe Wanderers Ladies Football Team 2003-2004 Reserve Team match report Holmer Green v Wycombe Sunday 23rd November 2003 The Reserves suffered a frustrating defeat at the hands of neighbours Holmer Green in an away league fixture on Sunday 23rd November. Blues had the majority of the early possession, but a corner in the 17th minute was headed over Tracy Sturges in the Wycombe goal. Wanderers took the game to the home side with shots from Laura Coull, Laura McLean and Karen Slater hitting the woodwork or just wide. Most threat from the home side came down the right wing, but the score remained 1-0 at the break. Holmer Green had a dream start to the second half getting in behind Blues defence to take on the keeper and make it 2-0. Good defensive work by Player of the Match, Jade Harker and Alison Barry made it hard for the home side to capitalise on the possession they gained. Rebecca Hilton and Sarah New were brought on for the last 15 minutes, but even fresh legs could not turn possession and chances into goals and the score-line remained a depressing 2-0.
