SUPPORTERS' TRUST OPEN MEETING
(Saturday 17th April 2004)
The group of supporters proposing the formation of a Supporters' Trust connected to Wycombe Wanderers have issued some further comments ahead of the 'Open Meeting' to take place on Monday 19th April 2004.
The news of the meeting was first announced to supporters via a handout at the home game with Tranmere Rovers on 12th April and the following piece appeared in the official matchday programme versus Swindon Town on Saturday 17th April.
Why do we think that this meeting is necessary?
- Because we firmly believe that Football Supporters are the lifeblood of the game.
- All too often, the views of supporters have been ignored.
- All teams need their fans to get behind them.
- A Football Club equally needs to show loyalty to the fans.
- More enlightened clubs know it is in their own interest to value supporters and involve them in the affairs of the club.
- Supporters see their club as an asset built in many cases on generations of support. Directors, Players, and Managers come and go but Supporters are there for life.
- We think that the creation of a Supporters Trust at Wycombe would allow every fan to have the opportunity to become involved in the future of the club.
Who are we?
We are a small group of supporters unconnected with the Football Club, who see benefits for all supporters of Wycombe Wanderers and the Football Club in the creation of a supporters trust.
BUT
This will only happen if you, the supporters, want it to happen.
Do come along and hear what we have to say.
