FIXTURE CHANGES FOR WYCOMBE (Wednesday 4th July 2001) Since the fixture list has been released there have been three changes to the orginal dates. The trip to Notts County was originally brought forward to Friday 5th October to avoid clashing with the England/Greece World Cup qualifier the following day. However, since then police advised that the fixture should be move Sunday 7th October due to the rather bizarre reason of the annual 'Goose Fair' in Nottingham! Wycombe didn't agree to the switch but the Football League insisted after an appeal by County. Since then the two clubs have agreed to move the fixture back to the original date of Saturday 6th October with a 12noon kick-off. The second change sees the trip to Cambridge United re-scheduled for Tuesday 22nd January instead of the following evening. The final change at present sees the trip to Huddersfield Town on Saturday 1st September moved to the following day, Sunday 2nd September, with a 6.15pm kick-off to cater for live coverage on the new ITV digital Sports Channel. The orginal date was the day of Germany/England World Cup qualifier. Meanwhile the kick-off for the game at Chesterfield on Boxing Day included in information released elsewhere as 7.45pm has since been confirmed as 3pm. Confirmation of the live game at Huddersfield is still awaited but this is purely down to the local police given it the OK. Check all the latest Wanderers headlines with Chairboys on the Net |
