PRE-SEASON PLANS 2001/2002
Tottenham Hotspur Fellow FA Cup semi-finalists Tottenham Hotspur will be the visitors to Adams Park on Saturday 21st July and it will be Wycombe's only home friendly due to the building work taking place on the 'away end' at Adams Park. Entrance prices for this game are; Adults £10, Seniors's £8 and Juniors £4. Terrace prices are £8 Adults, Seniors's £6 and Juniors £2. Spurs will be given the lower tier of the Woodlands due to re-development of the 'away end' and Family Stand regulars will be re-located to the upper tier of the Woodlands Stand. Contrary to some reports, the game with Spurs is NOT ALL-TICKET but fans are advised to get tickets in advance and get to the game in good time to avoid congestion at the turnstiles.

ShelbourneFinal confirmation of the Ireland trip were released by the Club on Friday 29th June. The first game will be against against Dublin side Shelbourne on Friday 27th July (kick-off 7.30pm) and the second game will be on Sunday 29th July (kick-off 2.30pm) against last season's opponents Bohemian's, also in Dublin.

Bohemian The game with The Boh's was initially complicated by their involvement in the UEFA Champions League and then further complicated by an All Ireland Gaelic Football match taking place at the nearby Croke Park on the same afternoon. After discussions, both Club's settled to play the match close to the original time which will allow Wycombe to travel back on the Sunday evening as planned.

Chairboys Irish tour 2001Chairboys on the Net reported during the first week of May that the pre-season trip to Ireland was now "95% likely to go ahead". The trip to Southern Ireland had looked in doubt following the Foot and Mouth scare sweeping the mainland of the UK but any potential problems were given the all clear back in April by the respective FA's.

Wycombe's headline grabbing FA Cup run in 2000/2001 has meant that requests for friendlies have been coming in from some unusual locations. The Club are understood to have turned down an invitation to play on the Caribbean Islands of St.Kitts and Nevis despite all costs being covered by the St. Kitts & Nevis Tourist Board. Manager Lawrie Sanchez decided that it was in the best interests of the football club that the pre-season preparation took place nearer home. However, the offer of an invitation to next year's tournament has been left open.

The remaining fixtures in the pre-season schedule for 2001/2002 is an away game with Dr Marten's side Crawley Town on Tuesday 24th July. This game is a carry-over from last season when the fixture, arranged as part of the deal that brought Richard Thompson to Wycombe, was postponed at the last moment. A trip to Ryman League side Aldershot Town is also scheduled for Saturday 4th August. The Shots are managed by former Wanderers' hardman George Borg and have recently signed former Wycombe Youth Team triallist John Nutter. Ex-Wycombe players Matt Crossley and Lee Holsgrove were also on their books last season but Crossley was released during May.

Another fixture that will be arranged at some point during the 2001/2001 season will be Jason Cousins' testimonial. Celtic is the name on the tip of everybody's lip but this is unlikely likely to materialise until later in the season.

Away End extension updateWork on the extension to the 'away end' is due to be completed before Wycombe's first home game of The Football League season on Saturday 18th August against Wrexham. Wycombe travel to Cardiff City a week earlier after applying to the Football League for an away game on the opening day to assist with completion of the 'away end 'project'.
