CASTLEDINE
WEDS TV CELEB
(Tuesday 27th June 2000) Wycombe's latest signing Stewart Castledine has made the front page of HELLO! magazine thanks to his recent marriage to Channel 5 presenter Lucy Alexander. As well as making the front page, there were nine pages of photos and an interview with the newly wed couple. Sadly for Wycombe the wedding took place before his move to Adams Park had been finalised, so there was no free publicity for The Chairboys. 29 year old Lucy told Hello! magazine "I wasn't into soccer, so never in a million years did I think I'd end up marrying a footballer. I always thought they were a bit thick but when I met Stewart he wasn't at all like I imagined a footballer to be" The article also revealed how Castledine once signed a lucrative modelling contract and has also appeared in a best-selling exercise video. The Twickenham wedding included several celebrity guests. Athlete Daley Thompson, who helped Wycombe out during the close season training in the summer of 1999, was present as was Sky's SoccerAM presenter Helen Chamberlain, TV presenter Debbie Greenwood and Eastenders babe Tamzin Outhwaite. Castledine played down the celebrity angle by telling Hello! magazine "I don't look on either of us as being celebrities. Lucy has a successful TV career and I've done pretty well in football but we've never set ourselves up as a 'celebrity couple' " Return to News Desk... |
