BOARD PLEDGE MONEY FOR SANCHEZ (Friday 25th May 2001) Club Chairman Ivor Beeks has said that "a record amount" of money will be available in the player budget next season. In a statement to the press, Beeks thanked the fans for their support throughout the 2000/2001 campaign before outlining the aspirations of the Board. The Wanderers Chairman said "Our mission is to win promotion while creating, building and rewarding supporters and interest group loyality by providing great entertainment and first class services and facilities" The Club raked in over £1m in gate receipts alone from the FA Cup run and the Board and set to put a large slice of this at the disposal of Lawrie Sanchez. Beeks continued in his statement "I can confirm that we'll be investing the extra money we got from our FA Cup run in new players, so Lawrie can finish building a team that will win promotion. The board has approved a record amount to spend on contracts and transfer fees for these new players" The Board will be hoping that their decision to freeze Season Ticket prices will keep the fans coming back to Adams Park. Last season's average crowd of just over 5,500 was the highest since Wycombe's debut season in Division Two in 1994/95. "We've kept most prices stable to get more people into the ground, we're doing everything we can to build a winning team on the pitch and we're working hard to improve communication and service standards off the pitch" Beeks added "Now we need our fans to show they share our commitment to the cause and I'm sure they do" Return to News Desk |
