ALL THERE IS TO SAY AND KNOW ABOUT WYCOMBE WANDERERS ON THE INTERNET.... |
SANCH'S PLANS FOR
2001/2002 (Wednesday 23rd May 2001) ![]() The Wycombe boss will be in the unusual situation of having money to spend on new players. Speaking on Ringing The Blues, Sanchez said "The Directors are very positive and there's some money available to spend on transfers" Sanchez says he has drawn up a short list of players that he wants but is finding it difficult at the moment as players wrangle for the best deals they can get. "Things will come into focus more towards the end of June when players contracts are running out or club's decide they need to get people off wage bill's and perhaps get in some money" Sanchez has already been given the cold shoulder by Swindon following an enquiry for highly rated midfielder Danny Invincibile. However, that deal could spring back into life when Sanchez returns from his break. He'll be back in his Office at Adams Park when training starts on 5th July and doesn't expect too much activity in the transfer before then. The targets for next season remain well focused in Sanchez's mind. Writing in his final programme notes of the 2000/2001 campaign he said "Next season we are determined to concentrate on our league exploits. There are still targets to reach in every facet, the Third Round of the Worthington Cup remains a target, Stoke City are the only side currently in Division Two we have never beaten, it could be a very long time before the club reaches the FA Cup semi-final again but none the less a good cup run is always welcome if for financial reasons alone".
