Steve Williams (Goalkeeper) - 3rd Year Scholar 2001-2002
Born 21 April 1983 - Oxford
6'3" 'keeper who joined The Wanderers CofE at the age of 14 after being spotted playing for a local side in Thame. Has had limited chances at Senior level due to being behind Martin Taylor and Mark Osborn in the pecking order. Loaned out to Beaconsfield SYCOB during 2001-2002 to gain more experience. Signed a one year pro contract for the 2002/3 season in April 2002.
Marc Leach (Defender/forward) - 3rd Year Scholar 2001-2002
Born 12 July 1983
Joined Wycombe at the age of 15 having previously had spells with Arsenal and Watford. Originally played at centre-back but converted to striker during the 2000/1 season where he seemed more comfortable. The 6'4" player gained experience for Wanderers' Reserves during the 2001-2 season and was also given a surprise First Team call-up in March 2002 but he was released at the end of the season. His older brother, Nick, is a former Youth Teamer with Wycombe. First Team profile
Leeyon Phelan (Forward) - 3rd Year Scholar 2001-2002
Born 6 October 1982 - Hammersmith
Joined Wycombe aged 14 after being spotted playing for Hounslow District and Middlesex County. Quickly developed into a regular scorer for both the Wanderers Youth Team and then the Reserve XI. Given his First Team debut during the latter part of the 2000-1 season but was largely ignored during the 2001-2 season and was loaned out to Ashford Town. Eventually left Wycombe in March 2002 after a bust-up with the coaching staff at Wycombe. First Team profile
Ian Simpemba (Midfield) - 3rd Year Scholar 2001-2002
Born 28 March 1983 - Hammersmith
Came to The Wanderers CofE at the age of 14 after being spotted playing for Sussex County. CofE Player of the Season for 1998/99 and has since gone to gain honours with the Republic of Ireland Youth sides, gaining Under 17 and Under 19's honours. A regular with the Wanderers Reserve side in 2001/2 where he has also played at centre-back. Has been offered a pro contract for the 2002/3 season.
Roger Johnson (Defender) - 3rd Year Scholar 2001-2002
Born 28 April 1983 - Ashford
Came to Wycombe aged 14 having been rejected by both Bournemouth and Portsmouth. Quickly established himself as a commanding central defender and occasional goalscorer. Youth Team player of the Season 1999/2000 and in May 2000 became the youngster Wycombe player to make a Football League appearance. Emerged into the First Team again in 2001/2002. First Team profile
