Wanderers went down 2-1 to Caribbean international team St Vincent and Grenadines on a bitterly cold evening at Adams Park. The game had originally been arranged as a First Team friendly but with the FA Cup replay at Mansfield taking place just 24 hours prior it was a fairly inexperienced Wanderers' line-up which took on the touring side. Backed by a significant and vocal section of the small crowd it was the visitors who took the lead in in the 11th minute when a strike from Marlon James from the edge of the area beat Wanderers' triallist Finnish goalkeeper Yani. It was also the visitors who looked the more likely to add to the score before the break with Wanderers' best effort coming on 19 minutes when Steve Brown went close with a diving header. Wanderers looked a bit more purposeful after the interval and pulled the scores level on 56 minutes when Andy Bell finished from 15 yards following a through ball from Wycombe Man of the Match Charlie Mapes. However, the visitors regained the lead in the 69th minute when Shandell Samuel got past Matty Warner down the right wing and his shot from a narrow angle beat Yani. Substitute Nathaniel Griffiths had a good chance to level on 71 minutes when a through ball beat the offside trap but the Second Year scholar put his shot too close to Nathan Abbey in the visitors goal. Steve Brown then saw an effort cleared off the line in the dying moments following a free-kick from the left by Charlie Mapes but it was the visitors who enjoyed victory.
