Once again Wycombe fielded a youthful side and contained their hosts for the opening exchanges but it was the pace of Paul Dalglish (son of Kenny) and Dutchman Raimond De Waard who caused problems throughout. The first real chance of the game came after 25 minutes when Ian Simpemba lost possession in midfield and Mark Westhead was forced to make a good save from De Waard. It was a minute after Emblen's exit that the home side took the lead - a free-kick from the right by Cedric Anselin being headed home by Adrian Coote. Wycombe's best chance of the evening came a minute later when Martyn Lee's corner from the right was cleared into the path of Ben Townsend, whose shot was deflected wide. De Waard saw an effort hit the post on 35 minutes with Westhead beaten as the Wanderers trailed 1-0 at the break. Leeyon Phelan shot narrowly wide seven minutes after the break but a minute later the home side had doubled their lead - De Waard crossing from the left for Coote to head home past a static defence. It was 3-0 on the hour mark when Dalglish's cross from the right was spilled by Westhead and Paul McVeigh was on hand to stab the ball home. Dalglish hit the crossbar from 20 yards before Norwich completed the scoring with four minute left of normal time when Jason Cousins' slip let in McVeigh who cut in from the left before slotting past Westhead. Final Score Norwich City 4 Wycombe 0
