![]() One of the youngest ever Wycombe sides to compete in a Combination game also featured new Youth Team triallist John Nutter. The 19 year old has been on the books of Blackburn and recently played for Northampton's youth set-up before Wycombe stepped in. Nutter was amongst a four man Wycombe defence that conceded four times in the opening 45 minutes. Of those four Mark Rogers picked up a knock during the first-half and was replaced by Neil Smillie's son Jack, who was making his reserve team debut. Cheltenham opened their account in the 6th minute when Russell Milton's cross from the left was headed powerfully home at the far post by Anthony Griffin. The visitors made it 2-0 in the 21st minute when a Milton converted with ease after the ball was centered from the right. Three minutes Gareth Hopkin finally converted his chance after the ball had initially hit Mark Westhead's post. Bulman was featured in Wycombe's first serious effort of the game on 37 minutes - beating a Town player in midfield before powering through and sending a dipping shot that flash wide of the upright. Hopkin took he score to 4-0 five minutes before the break when he was left to pick his spot in the top corner of the Wycombe net after Griffin had threaded through. Half-time Wycombe 0 Cheltenham 4 The visitors were happy to sit on their lead during the second-half as Wycombe enjoyed their best spell of the game. Bulman played a delightful through ball to Peter Holsgrove in the 67th minute but Shame Higgs in the Town goal pushed the resulting shot wide. Wycombe finished strongly with Leeyon Phelan getting down the right wing on 87 minutes but there was nobody to finish his inviting cross to the far post. The match ended with an injury scare for Bulman when he was caught late by Bob Bloomer in the final minute. Bulman went down clutching his ankle but after treatment from physio Terry Evans he was able to finish the game. The result was disappointing but to see Dannie Bulman back in action was just the boost needed ahead of the Division Two game at Colchester on Saturday (25th November). Final Score Wycombe 0 Cheltenham 4
