The action in this game was very much restricted to the first half with all the Wanderers players looking to impress the onlooking Wycombe boss Lawrie Sanchez. Yeovil born Mooniaruck was first to show on 12 minutes when his shot from the right channel was tipped over by Ricky Millard in the Barnet goal. Three minutes later Gavin Holligan should have scored from a Mooniaruck cross from the right bye-line but he headed wide of the far post from less than six yards. Wanderers continued to dominate and in the 27th minute some battling work from Glynn created an opening but Rammell was caught in two minds and instead of trying to smash the ball home from around eight yards he unselfeshly tried to lay the ball back to Glynn but only ended up directing the ball wide of the target. A minute later Rammell was on the score sheet after an exceptional run by Martyn Lee from the left of midfield. Lee sprayed the ball out to the wing to Holligan and a first class delivery to the near post was met by the diving head of Lee only for the Barnet 'keeper to produce a brilliant one handed save. However, Rammell was on hand to convert the loose ball from close range. A minute before the break there was a rare piece of action at the other end when Luke Oliver put Martin Taylor in trouble with a under hit back pass but Taylor saved and then Oliver recovered to clear the loose ball. The first half action concluded when Lee struck a free-kick wide after Holligan had been fouled on the edge of the box. Rammell was replaced by Wanderers 2nd Year Scholar Billy Harding at the break but Wycombe failed to keep the momementum from the first half going. Unfortunately that meant that both Mooniaruck and Glynn were given little opportunity to make any further mark on the game and lcoally born Glynn at least will be hoping he is given another chance in the Reserve game at Reading on Wednesday 19th March. Meanwhile Mooniaruck was subject of a disgraceful challenge by Barnet's Ben Martin that even left Bee's Reserve coach Martyn Allen holding his head in disbelief. Martin got away with a yellow but was substituted moments later. Mooniaruck followed shortly afterwards and as he has already played two trial games for Wycombe this could restrict further chances in a Wanderers shirt. Barnet had the final chance of the day when substitute Ryan Lee went close after a cross from the left in the 81st minute but Wycombe hung on the register only their fifth Avon Insurance Combination victory of the season.
