The tie had seen John Gorman make five changes to the side that had drew with Rushden at the weekend. Frank Talia returned in goal instead of loanee Andew Lonergan, Russell Martin came in at left back in favour of Clint Easton, while Rob Lee and Sergio Torres returned to midfield with Matt Bloomfield dropping to the bench and Joe Burnell rested due to a hamstring problem. Up front Gorman confirmed his intentions of playing an attacking style by sticking with his first choice duo of Tommy Mooney and Nathan Tyson, while Ian Stonebridge played as a third striker with Stefan Oakes the player dropped from midfield. Charlie Griffin was on the bench and went on to make his first competitive appearance for Wycombe following his head injury in pre-season. Wycombe could have been ahead inside the first minute but Mooney's shot was blocked by one of his own players when a goal seemed certain. On 15 minutes Betsy chipped a shot just wide of the left hand upright while Mooney was denied by Daggers 'keeper Tony Roberts on 25 minutes as Wycombe continued to pepper the visitors goal. Wycombe fell behind on 26 minutes after casual defending allowed Moore space on the left whose low cross was converted with ease by Benson. The goal had little effect on the balance of play but Wycombe may thought they would never score after seeing Tyson have a header saved on 37 minutes and then three minutes after the break Stonebridge shot weakly at Roberts after the ex-Plymouth man broke in from the right. A great cross on the run from the right by Tyson on 52 minutes was met by Betsy on the far side of the penalty area but having taken one touch, the final shot ended wide of the right hand post. Wanderers finally drew level after the introduction of both Easton and Griffin. Easton was pushed into the left side of attack and within a couple of minutes had met Senda's cross from the right to score. Wycombe then went close to wrapping the game up in normal time. First on 76 minutes Griffin was unfortunate to see his reaction header from close range go high of the target, while five minutes later Sergio Torres weaved into the box from the right but pulled his shot wide. Extra-time saw a rare attack for the visitors when subsititute Bai Mas Lattejellow forced Talia to save well to his right but relief was not far away for Wycombe as, after seeing Senda smash a free-kick against the post, it was Easton who crashed in the winner from the left side of the penalty area. Final Score - Wycombe 2 Dagenham & Redbridge 1
