![]() The triallists included former Torquay United trainee goalkeeper Scott Corderoy. However, the youngster mainly had an evening to forget as he was caught at the near post for the only goal of the game when John Lawford swung a free-kick in from the right flank just before the half-time interval. Performing at right-back was youngster Sonny Ball from the Wimbledon Youth Team while in midfield Joe Burnell was making his first appearance in a Wycombe shirt following his summer move from Bristol City. The third triallist was striker Stephen Hughes who is a local born lad who came through the Brentford Youth system. A fourth triallist, striker Ian Hodge from Slough Town, was expected to appear but pulled out at the last moment. Wanderers also introduced several members of their First Year Apprentice intake for the 2004/5 season during the second-half, while former Wimbledon trainee Shahed Ahmed replaced Nathan Tyson who picked up a minor knock during the first period. Ahmed made a number of nippy runs down the left flank during the second half, while on the opposite wing Youth Teamer Ikechi Anya made a similar impression. Former Norwich and Watford midfielder Clint Easton was originally thought to be only triallist from the Beaconsfield game to be given a second chance but he did not appear despite earlier reports suggesting he might. Instead the relatively unknown Russell Martin replaced Matt Bloomfield at the break. Martin is a youngster who hails from Varndean College, Brighton and has also been involved with England at Schoolboy level. The nearest Wanderers came to equalising came in the dying moments when a cross from the right from Ball saw Ahmed head against the foot of the near post. Meanwhile, Chesham had earlier chances at the other end to have made the winning margin more comfortable. The pre-season games continue at Dorchester Town on Saturday 17th July before Portsmouth visit Adams Park on Tuesday 20th July. It's then a return to Dorset for a game with Weymouth on Saturday 24th July. Final Score: Chesham United 1 Wycombe 0
